Job Summary

As Associate Director of Client Acquisition, you’ll execute strategic business development plans for the Africa region,with a focus on offshore banking and mortgages. You’ll work across key corridors, building relationships with internal teams and external introducers to achieve acquisition targets.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Execution

  • Implement and execute the business development strategy to meet acquisition and revenue targets across accounts, assets under management (AUM), and mortgages.
  • Build and nurture strong networks with brokers, introducers, and SCB relationship managers in core regions and across key international corridors.

Client & Prospect Management

  • Handle referrals for offshore banking prospects, ensuring they meet business criteria.
  • Manage the end-to-end onboarding process, from account opening to completion of mortgage product paperwork.
  • Deliver ongoing feedback and updates to referrers, ensuring all business activity is tracked and monitored.

Sales & Marketing Support

  • Drive prospecting activities via face-to-face meetings, group presentations, and third-party introducers.
  • Assist in designing sales and marketing strategies tailored to the region of focus.

Risk, Governance & Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to bank policies and regulatory requirements throughout onboarding and mortgage processes.
  • Maintain AML compliance, complete all required training, and uphold the Group’s Code of Conduct.
  • Identify and mitigate risk in client acquisition while ensuring robust documentation.

  • Strong relationship-building and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, with a client-first mentality and a keen sense of initiative.
  • Team player with strong organizational and planning abilities.
  • Knowledge of banking products, wealth management, and mortgage processes.
  • Cantonese or Mandarin language skills are highly desirable.

Qualifications

  • Good understanding of financial services, preferably in banking, wealth management, or international banking.
  • Proven sales experience and a track record of achieving business development targets.
  • Mortgage qualification and familiarity with regulatory and consumer protection guidelines.
  • Knowledge of international banking practices and regional financial services trends.
