Job Summary
As the Associate Director of Partnership & Alliance for the Greater China (GC) Segment within Standard Chartered, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and advancing the bank's customer value proposition across the Wealth and Retail Banking (WRB) division. Your main focus will be to develop comprehensive strategies that encompass customer onboarding, ongoing engagement, and deepening of relationships tailored to segment-specific needs. You will be instrumental in building and sustaining a robust partnership model that not only aligns with business objectives but also drives significant value for the GC and Greater Bay Area (GBA) markets. Key Responsibilities
Business Leadership and Strategy Development
- Develop and refine the acquisition and Customer Value Proposition (CVP) models specifically tailored for the GC/GBA segments, driving sustained growth and enhanced customer engagement metrics.
- Craft and execute comprehensive growth strategies for the GC/GBA customer base, focusing on increasing portfolio size and revenue streams through innovative approaches and consumer-centric initiatives.
- Lead the formulation and implementation of partnership strategies to expand the Affluent portfolio within the GC/GBA markets, identifying and leveraging opportunities for exponential business growth.
- Identify potential partnerships and alliances that align with the bank's vision, establishing mutually beneficial long-term collaborations with strategic partners and regulatory bodies.
Operational Excellence and Risk Management
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives to boost operational efficiencies and effectiveness in day-to-day business processes pertaining to the GC/GBA segment.
- Ensure robust management and mitigation of operational risks, maintaining strict compliance with internal policies, external legal requirements, and industry regulations.
- Oversee the safe and controlled execution of business strategies, ensuring that infrastructure and processes are scalable and primed for sustainable growth.
People Development and Culture
- Foster talent growth through targeted development programs that leverage individuals' strengths, while supporting clear career progression and personal development plans.

This position is based in Kwun Tong, Hong Kong and requires full-time, on-site commitment at the office. While this role does not include direct people leadership responsibilities, it significantly influences broader team dynamics and cross-departmental partnerships through strategic leadership and project guidance.
The Associate Director will serve as a key ambassador for the bank’s initiatives within the Greater China and Greater Bay Area regions, necessitating regular interactions with partner organisations, regulators, and industry influencers. The role demands a balance between strategic thought leadership and operational execution, ensuring that business objectives are met while maintaining compliance and risk standards.

Skills and Experience
- Extensive experience within prominent financial services organisations, with a preference for backgrounds in retail banking and wealth management.
- Proven project management capabilities, showcasing an ability to lead complex initiatives from conception through to successful delivery.
- Strong skills in partner and regulator engagement, including negotiating alliances and navigating compliance frameworks effectively.
- Excellent strategic thinking, analytical acumen, and decision-making skills, capable of managing ambiguity and driving clarity in fast-evolving environments.
- Demonstrated customer focus with a passion for delivering superior service and innovative value propositions tailored to diverse segments.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to build trust and collaborate effectively across cultural and organisational boundaries.
Qualifications
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline is required. Advanced qualifications or certifications related to banking, financial services, or project management will be considered advantageous.
- Languages: Fluency in both English and Chinese is essential to effectively operate within the GC and GBA markets. Proficiency in spoken and written Mandarin is highly desirable to engage seamlessly with local stakeholders and clients.
