Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Analyst to join our Development and Agency Finance (DAF) team at Standard Chartered Bank AG, on a 10-month maternity cover.

This role offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of Project & Export Finance, Export Credit Agencies (ECAs), Multilaterals and Development Finance Institutions (DFIs), supporting complex cross-border transactions with European sponsors and exporters, particularly in French-speaking markets.

You will support the origination, structuring and execution of transactions while working closely with senior team members, clients and key internal stakeholders across the Group

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the identification and origination of Project & Export Finance opportunities from European sponsors, borrowers and exporters, with a particular focus on France and Belgium and SCB’s footprint markets
  • Assist in generating new business opportunities and maintaining a robust pipeline of transactions
  • Plan and support the execution of marketing and client engagement activities in assigned markets, including lead tracking and follow-up
  • Support relationship management with Export Credit Agencies (notably Bpifrance Assurance Export and Credendo), Multilaterals and DFIs (e.g. DEG) to understand policy frameworks and product offerings
  • Contribute to delivering ECA / ML / DFI-backed financing structures to clients
  • Collaborate with Global Credit Markets and Transaction Banking teams to cross-sell broader banking solutions
  • Support regional heads in originating, tracking and reporting opportunities
  • Assist in managing the credit approval process, ensuring efficient execution and strong engagement with Credit teams
  • Support origination, development, marketing, negotiation and execution of IDFG and DAF transactions, including loan arranger and advisory mandates
  • Provide support to the wider DAF team, including inbound market teams
  • Assist in structuring transactions using ECA, Multilateral and DFI products to mitigate credit and funding risks
  • Support the development of new financing structures and adoption of new products introduced by ECAs, MDBs and DFIs
  • Ensure adherence to SCB Group and SCB AG governance, compliance and risk standards
  • Support proactive client engagement and timely delivery of market intelligence
  • Respond to client and internal requests efficiently and professionally
  • Assist in ensuring DAF processes comply with internal policies, applicable laws and regulations
  • Support operational efficiency improvements and the maintenance of effective frameworks and controls
  • Engage actively with key internal stakeholders to ensure smooth transaction execution
  • Support service level agreements and operational best practices

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree or MBA preferred

Experience & Skills:

  • Strong interest in Project Finance, Export Finance, Structured Finance or Development Finance
  • Solid analytical, organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced, transaction-driven environment
  • Strong attention to detail with a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset

Languages: Fluent French and Business-level English
