Job Description: 

Job Summary

The Assistant Project Manager supports the delivery of business and technology change initiatives across credit cards, deposits, digital banking, and payment systems. Working closely with Project Managers and Product Owners, the role coordinates project planning, governance, reporting, risk and issue management, testing readiness, and implementation activities to ensure projects are delivered in a controlled, well-governed, and timely manner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Project Managers and Product Owners in delivering business and technology change initiatives across credit cards, deposits, digital banking, and payment systems.
  • Coordinate project plans, milestones, governance materials, status reporting, meeting minutes, and project documentation throughout the delivery lifecycle.
  • Track project actions, decisions, risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies, escalating matters that may affect scope, timelines, cost, controls, or customer outcomes.
  • Coordinate with Business, Technology, Operations, Risk, Compliance, and vendor stakeholders to confirm requirements, dependencies, testing readiness, and implementation checkpoints.
  • Support user acceptance testing, including test planning, defect tracking, evidence collection, approvals, and sign-off.
  • Assist with implementation and post-implementation activities, including readiness checklists, stakeholder communications, user verification, and handover to operations or production support.
  • Maintain accurate and complete project records to support governance, risk management, and audit requirements.
  • Prepare clear and concise updates for working groups, project steering committees, and management forums.
  • Identify delivery risks and blockers early, coordinate mitigation actions, and keep relevant stakeholders informed.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by enhancing project templates, trackers, reporting processes, and delivery controls.

Our Ideal Candidate

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technology, Project Management, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of project management experience, preferably within banking, financial services, or other regulated industries.
  • Proven experience supporting project planning, governance, reporting, risk and issue management, testing, and implementation activities.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, problem-solving, and project delivery skills, with the ability to work effectively across Business and Technology teams.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English; Cantonese or Mandarin would be an advantage.
  • PMP, Agile, Scrum, Product Owner, or similar project management certifications are beneficial but not mandatory.
