Job Description: 

Job Summary

•    The Private Bank Credit Risk Monitoring Manager plays a pivotal role in maintaining the integrity and efficiency of the credit risk management framework within the Private Banking segment. This position is primarily responsible for ensuring the seamless execution of shortfall management and margin call processes, thereby safeguarding the bank's financial stability and mitigating potential risks.

Key Responsibilities

Shortfall Management and Margin Call Process: 
•    The manager ensures that all shortfall management and margin call processes are executed accurately and timely, aligning with the bank's policies and regulatory requirements. This involves alerting First Line stakeholders of shortfall accounts, agreeing to remediation plans, raising to local Credit team if extension being required and work with First Line Client Service Managers (CSM) in execution of sell down as required. 
Support to Credit Risk Officers: 
•    The role provides comprehensive support to Credit Risk Officers in various aspects of credit risk management. This includes assisting in the follow-up with First Line on timely credit application submissions, follow up with First Line on compliance to approved credit conditions, monitoring facility limit excesses, overseeing concentration risk etc. The manager acts as a liaison between the PvB Credit Risk team and other First Line stakeholders to facilitate smooth operations and effective risk management.
Internal and External Reporting: 
•    The manager is responsible for conducting detailed internal and external reporting for the Private Bank Credit team. This includes preparing Committee packs submissions, Risk appetite reporting, Credit portfolio reporting, and regulatory submissions. The role requires a keen eye for detail and the ability to compile and present complex data in a clear and concise manner, ensuring that all reports meet the highest standards of accuracy and compliance.
•    The ideal candidate for this role will have a strong background in credit risk management within the private banking sector, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively under pressure and time constraint. They will be adept at managing multiple tasks simultaneously and possess strong communication skills to interact with various stakeholders. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the bank's risk management strategy and support its commitment to maintaining a robust and compliant credit risk framework

•    Provide inputs on strategies for effective shortfall management and margin call processes to safeguard the bank's financial stability.
•    Provide strategic insights and recommendations to enhance credit risk monitoring and reporting processes.
Business
•    Support the business by ensuring timely and accurate execution of credit-related processes, thereby enabling smooth operations and client satisfaction.
•    Collaborate with First Line stakeholders to address and resolve shortfall accounts, ensuring remediation plans are in place and executed.
•    Act as a liaison between the Private Bank Credit Risk team and First Line stakeholders to facilitate effective communication and coordination.
Processes
•    Oversee the execution of shortfall management and margin call processes, ensuring they are performed in accordance with bank policies and regulatory requirements.
•    Assist Credit Risk Officers in the follow-up of credit application submissions, compliance with credit conditions, and monitoring of facility limit excesses and concentration risks.
•    Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of internal and external reporting, including Committee packs, risk appetite reports, credit portfolio reports, and regulatory submissions.

•    Provide guidance and support to Credit Risk Officers and First Line business partners, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
•    Support a culture of compliance, risk awareness, and proactive risk management with fellow stakeholders and business partners.
Risk Management
•    Monitor and manage credit risks associated with shortfall accounts and margin calls, ensuring timely identification and mitigation of potential risks.
•    Ensure compliance with approved credit conditions, facility limit excesses, and concentration risk limits.
•    Conduct thorough risk assessments and provide recommendations to mitigate identified risks, enhancing the overall risk management framework.

Governance
•    Ensure all credit risk management activities comply with the bank’s policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
•    Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation of all credit risk management processes and decisions.
Regulatory & Business Conduct
•    Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct. 
•    Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank.
