Job Description: 

Job Summary

•    The role holder is responsible for driving Search Engine Optimisation (SEO), Answer Engine Optimisation (AEO) and Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO) strategies to improve Standard Chartered Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) visibility, authority and performance across traditional search engines and AI-driven discovery platforms.

•    The role will ensure content, technical foundations and digital experiences are optimised to surface CIB products, insights and thought leadership in search results, AI-generated answers and conversational interfaces, supporting brand, acquisition and engagement objectives globally.

•    The individual will work closely with the content team/ marketing team to develop content to support global business strategy and make recommendations based on an understanding of the business and market dynamics, as well a client insights and content performance. This role will need to align and collaborate with global, product and geographic plans across our network order to drive the most effective outcomes. With deep experience and understanding of B2B marketing, we are looking for a proactive, results-oriented individual with strong organisational and project management skills.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy & Planning
•    Define and execute a holistic SEO, AEO and GEO strategy aligned to business, brand and content priorities.
•    Anticipate changes in search and AI discovery ecosystems (e.g. generative search, AI assistants, voice search) and translate them into actionable optimisation approaches.
•    Partner with brand, content, product and Group web teams to embed optimisation best practices from planning through execution.

SEO & Technical Optimisation
•    Lead on-page, off-page and technical SEO improvements, including site structure, metadata, internal linking, schema markup and performance optimisation.
•    Work closely with Group Web and platform teams to ensure SEO requirements are incorporated into CMS, site migrations and new feature releases.
•    Monitor crawlability, indexation, site health and performance metrics, proactively identifying and resolving issues.

AEO & GEO Enablement
•    Optimise content and data structures to improve visibility in AI-generated answers, featured snippets, voice responses and conversational search outputs.
•    Develop frameworks for structuring content to support entity recognition, topical authority and trusted source signals.
•    Partner with content and editorial teams to adapt formats, tone and structure for AI-driven discovery.

Content & Editorial Optimisation
•    Provide SEO/AEO/GEO guidance for content creation, including keyword intent mapping, topic clustering and semantic optimisation.
•    Ensure thought leadership, campaign and evergreen content is optimised for discoverability and relevance across channels.
•    Support localisation and market teams with scalable optimisation frameworks.

Performance & Analytics
•    Define KPIs and measurement frameworks for SEO, AEO and GEO performance.
•    Track rankings, traffic, engagement, visibility and AI-surface performance, translating insights into clear recommendations.
•    Produce regular performance reports and insights for stakeholders, highlighting opportunities, risks and impact.

Business
•    Partner closely with business leads to ensure SEO, AEO and GEO strategies support commercial priorities by improving the discoverability, relevance and authority of the Bank’s products, capabilities and thought leadership across search engines and AI driven platforms. 
•    Support the development of high impact content frameworks, messaging and narratives optimised for search, answer engines and generative AI surfaces, aligned to key strategic priorities and client needs. 
•    Collaborate with content marketing colleagues to enable the CIB business globally to deliver integrated, search led and AI optimised content marketing campaigns aligned to client coverage objectives. 
•    Build strong relationships across the business, engaging regularly with key stakeholders to understand priority client segments, commercial opportunities and where SEO/AEO/GEO can most effectively drive visibility and impact. 
•    Support content and optimisation strategies that place data, analytics and search insights at the centre, with clear articulation of how improved search and AI visibility contributes to measurable business outcomes. 
•    Drive continuous improvement in search and content performance through experimentation, innovative optimisation approaches and a proactive mindset to evolving search and generative AI behaviours.

Processes
•    Liaise with procurement, legal and compliance to ensure contracts, and content processes are aligned with corporate policies and compliance.

•    Drive impactful engagement between Corporate Affairs, Brand & Marketing teams 
•    Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability and innovation within the team and across the organisation

Risk Management
•    Ensure adherence to the Risk Management Framework, Group Code of Conduct and various Policies, Procedures, and Guidelines of the Bank 
•    Ensure compliance with Third Party Risk Management, and Vendor Engagement and Sponsorship policies 
•    Ensure content complies with regional/local legal and regulatory requirements 
•    Work closely with the Media, Reputation & Issues team to mitigate any reputational risks possible from digital marketing campaigns, and community initiatives. 

Governance
•    Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework in which the firm operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role
•    Ensure adherence to the Operational Risk Framework, Group Code of Conduct and various Policies, Procedures and Guidelines of the Bank by the regional Brand & Marketing teams
•    Maintain high awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework in which the business operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role 
•    Completion of all mandatory training needed including e-learning within stated timeframes to support the understanding of the roles for delivering effective governance

Our Ideal Candidate

Technical & Professional Skills
•    6+ years of strong hands-on experience in SEO (Search Engine Optimisation), with working knowledge of AEO (Answer Engine Optimisation) and GEO (Generative Engine Optimisation) principles.
•    Understanding of search algorithms, structured data, schema, semantic search and AI-driven discovery.
•    Familiarity with enterprise CMS platforms, analytics tools (e.g. search performance, web analytics) and SEO tooling.
•    Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear guidance for non-technical stakeholders.

Experience
•    Proven experience delivering SEO-led growth in a complex, enterprise or regulated environment.
•    Experience working with content, technology and marketing teams across multiple markets.
•    Exposure to AI search, generative answers or conversational interfaces is highly desirable.
