Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and commercially minded FX professional with a winning mindset and a strong ambition to build a career in foreign exchange advisory and dealing. In this high-impact role, you will deliver timely market insights, tailored FX strategies, and high-quality execution services to Private Wealth and Private Banking clients. You will also collaborate with relationship managers, investment advisors, sales professionals, traders, analysts, strategists, and economists—giving you broad exposure across the investment community and the opportunity to help grow a strategically important business.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute long-term strategic and tactical plans to capture FX business opportunities across the Bank’s Hong Kong franchise.
- Grow the FX client base by delivering professional advisory, distribution, and execution services to Private Banking clients and Relationship Managers.
- Provide timely market updates, actionable FX insights, and tailored investment or trading strategies to clients and key internal stakeholders, including Relationship Managers, Investment Advisors, and DAC.
- Drive achievement of CMPS FX Hong Kong revenue targets through proactive client engagement, product advisory, and execution support.
- Build trusted partnerships with Front Office teams, Relationship Managers, Investment Advisors, DAC, and other key business partners.
- Lead FX product ideation, structuring, feature enhancement, service improvement, and operational upgrade initiatives to strengthen the client proposition and product competitiveness.
- Monitor business performance, competitor activity, and key performance indicators to identify growth opportunities and recommend timely actions.
- Ensure all FX advisory and execution activities comply with internal policies, regulatory requirements, control standards, and best execution principles.
Ideal candidate
- A university degree; professional qualifications such as CFA, FRM, or CPA would be an advantage.
- Six to eight years of relevant experience in financial markets, sales, advisory, or dealing; hands-on FX dealing experience is preferred.
- Strong understanding of the wealth management industry, gained within Private Banking or Retail Banking.
- Sound knowledge of FX markets, investment products, client advisory, and execution practices.
- Strong commercial awareness, relationship-management skills, and the ability to translate market developments into relevant client opportunities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- Fluency in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin.
