Job Description: 

JOB SUMMARY

This is the role of an Associate Director, Research & Insights which is part of a global team in Corporate Affairs, Brand and Marketing (“CABM”). The team’s aim is to promote the proactive use of Insights and Data in decision making by both Corporate and Investment Bank (“CIB”) and CABM teams. The ideal candidate should have experience of having worked in CIB, or adjacent businesses (TB, Markets, Finance), managing large scale / complex projects for insights generation, using advanced analytics tools and demonstrating strong project management. Market research or business consulting firm experience would be advantageous. 

•    Develop and manage robust data research/collection methodologies, approaches, and strategies to facilitate data extraction, data analysis, and insights generation for CABM and CIB
•    Demonstrate deep understanding of CIB client segments, their behaviours and needs
•    Lead the revenue submission, wallet mapping and insights deliveries for partners, including quality checks, engagement with legal & compliance
•    Lead governance and project management activities for all the external partner studies
•    Work closely with Coverage, TB, Markets and CABM stakeholders on various programs
•    Use advanced analytics tools (Python, SQL, Dataiku etc) and Excel skills to manage large data sets, convert data into insights, create dashboards and analysis packs; identify trends, causality, and actionable insights to support commercial business outcomes
•    Prepare high quality PowerPoint slides to tell data backed stories to sr stakeholders 
•    Support consolidation of CIB insights databases to generated actionable insights; obtain access to and manage data lake and visualisation tools and platforms
•    Create macros and use automation tools to drive efficiencies
•    Present to stakeholders; integrate multiple data sources for holistic insights. Story-tell the insights.
•    Support the delivery of other research projects managed by the team, as needed
•    Nurture deep relationships with external vendors

•    Drive the measurement strategy for CIB and CABM initiatives

•    Awareness and understanding of the wider business, economic and market environment in which the Group operates, particularly the CIB business.

•    Responsible for executing the Proprietary Client Survey and Market Research processes.
•    Adhere to the Bank’s research policies, ensuring integrity, independence, and research standards of any research analysis and/or CABM’s brand, marketing, communications content produced

•    The ability to interpret the Group's relevant risk and governance frameworks, identify key issues based on this information and put in place appropriate controls and measures.

•    Wider Research and Insights team based in Singapore, Malaysia, India and UK
•    CIB business stakeholders, including Sr Leaders in Coverage, TB and Markets, Finance
•    CABM and S&T senior leadership globally and across clusters

Other Responsibilities
•    Embed Here for good and Group’s brand and values in the CIB Research & Insights team; Perform other responsibilities assigned under Group, Country, Business or Functional policies and procedures

Our Ideal Candidate

  • 5+ years of experience in research and insight generation through  advanced analytics, data extraction, data analysis to support business decision making within financial institution or consulting background
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior audience 
  • Solid understanding of wallet mapping / wallet share methodologies 
  • Hands on experience with data transformation to align with organizational taxonomy 
  • Advance Power Point and excel skills, with the ability to create clear, data driven and visually compelling presentations.Experience with Python, PBI/Tableau and Dataiku would be an advantage
  • Experience working  with external vendors and partners to map inights, validate outputs and ensure alignment with business objectives
