Key Responsibilities
- Understand Standard Chartered’s business strategy, how it applies to Standard Chartered Bank AG and the consequences during a severe crisis situation.
- Develop, quantify and document recovery actions owned by the SCB AG business functions.
- Serve as coordination and communication of Recovery and Resolution queries with the SCB AG business functions.
- Assist in drafting and submitting SCB AG’s inaugural comprehensive Recovery Plan in line with BaFin regulations.
- Carry out the annual revision and submission of the SCB AG Recovery Plan.
- Act as the central liaison for communication, coordination, and escalation on Recovery and Resolution issues between SC Group and SCB AG.
- Oversee the fulfilment of regulatory commitments and ad-hoc requirements, ensuring prompt provision of necessary information and reports, and the effective organisation of workshops in partnership with both local and Group-wide teams.
- Contribute to ensuring proper reporting / escalation of relevant topics to the SCB AG ALCO, SCB AG Management Board, as well as relevant Group committees/forums as required.
- Participate actively in governance committees responsible for monitoring, addressing, and escalating matters related to Recovery and Resolution.
- Build a thorough understanding of regulatory frameworks, evaluate their implications, and lead the adoption of new requirements, ensuring compliance with both Group and SCB AG-specific policies, standards, and regulations.
- Ensure the preparation and upkeep of comprehensive documentation.
- Handle ad-hoc enquiries and efficiently coordinate and produce presentations for meetings involving senior management, regulatory authorities, and other stakeholders.
Job Summary
As part of the SCB AG Finance organisation, ultimately reporting to the AG CFO, you will join the Recovery and Resolution Team, which plays a vital role in supporting both AG and wider Group Recovery and Resolution Planning (RRP) initiatives. In your capacity as Analyst, you will engage with a team of specialists dedicated to planning and overseeing AG’s Recovery and Resolution efforts, contributing to a broad range of projects and deliverables aligned with the CFO’s strategic priorities.
Your responsibilities will include acting as the initial point of contact for the Bank’s Senior Management and regulatory authorities regarding Recovery & Resolution matters. In addition, you will collaborate closely with colleagues across Finance, Risk Management, Business Management, Treasury, and Operations to ensure successful coordination and execution of these activities.
Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree (or Equivalent) in Business, Economics or Another Relevant Area.
- 6+ years of experience in Banking, Financial Services or a related industry preferred.
- Prior experience in Recovery and Resolution Planning is a must.
- Governance, Regulation and Risk Management – Regulatory Compliance experience.
- Exceptional Financial Products and Markets knowledge.
- High proficiency in Capital and Liquidity Stress Testing.
- Experience in Financial Analysis.
- Expert in Finance and Accounting.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken).
