Job Summary

•    The Associate Vice President, NNM CoE is a senior role responsible for end-to-end governance, operational enablement and oversight of CIB non-vendor relationships and Nostro accounts. The role supports consistent execution across establishment, maintenance, review and closure activities through clear processes, reliable data, effective controls and transparent accountability.

•    The role translates policy, approved operating models, service commitments and operating instructions into controlled, measurable and audit-ready delivery. It establishes common standards for workflow execution, information quality, evidence retention, ageing, exception management, escalation, management information and continuous improvement across the CoE.

•    The role coordinates activities spanning onboarding and account opening, amendments, periodic reviews, renewals, service and account oversight, monitoring, reassessments, exception resolution, offboarding and closure.

•    Operating as the senior and subject-matter expert in the team, the role applies independent judgement, influences stakeholders without direct authority and provides informal leadership through day-to-day direction, coaching, quality oversight, knowledge sharing and escalation support. The role holder provides management with clear visibility of service performance, control health, ageing, exceptions, material risks and decisions required.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy
•    Support the execution of the NNM CoE strategy by aligning processes, controls, data and technology to deliver a consistent, scalable and sustainable service.
•    Translate changes in policies, standards, regulations, systems and operating models into clear service scope, procedures, controls and implementation priorities.
•    Maintain alignment between the approved operating model, service catalogue, process flows, Departmental Operating Instructions and actual service delivery.
•    Identify opportunities to simplify processes, enhance data quality and automate manual monitoring, reconciliation, evidence management and reporting activities.
•    Establish measurable service, control and quality outcomes for the portfolio.
•    Ensure the operating model remains scalable, sustainable and responsive to changes in business or regulatory requirements.

Business
•    Maintain and enhance the NNM CoE service-performance framework covering demand, volumes, capacity, ageing, turnaround time, quality, control outcomes, exceptions and escalations.
•    Build effective stakeholder relationships across businesses, responsible owners, risk and control functions, operations, service-delivery teams and relevant support functions.
•    Provide accurate and timely management information on material control gaps, overdue dependencies, unresolved exceptions and emerging operational risks.
•    Clarify service responsibilities and accountability boundaries for relevant stakeholders and delivery teams.
•    Promote a collaborative service model while maintaining accountability with the relevant Contract Owner, business owner, control owner or approver.
•    Coordinate resolution of material service-delivery issues and facilitate decisions requiring cross-functional alignment.

Processes
•    Manage non-vendor relationship establishment, maintenance and exit activities, including intake, due diligence and assessment support, approvals, workflow dependencies, readiness checks, reviews, renewals, reassessments, evidence validation and record completion.
•    Manage the end-to-end Nostro account lifecycle, including business justification, opening, activation, amendments, maintenance, periodic review, monitoring, suspension and closure.
•    Validate account documentation, mandates, authorised signatories, services, settlement instructions, static data and required approvals before implementation.
•    Maintain oversight of the Nostro account inventory, including ownership, purpose, status, entity and currency coverage, services, review dates, exceptions, ageing and outstanding actions.
•    Perform or coordinate reconciliations and data-quality checks, ensuring exceptions are evidenced, assigned, escalated and tracked to closure.
•    Apply consistent CoE controls for intake, completeness, approval tracking, evidence retention, ageing, exception management, escalation and closure assurance.
•    Maintain current operating instructions, process flows, service-catalogue alignment, evidence standards and escalation routes.
•    Document and coordinate implementation of approved process, control, system, ownership and regulatory changes, retaining records sufficient for governance traceability and audit readiness.

Expertise & Capability
•    Act as a subject-matter expert for NNM CoE activities, providing clear guidance on processes, controls, evidence standards, accountability boundaries and service requirements.
•    Provide informal leadership as the most senior grade in the team, helping colleagues prioritise work, resolve complex issues and apply consistent standards without assuming formal line-management accountability.
•    Coach and support colleagues through knowledge sharing, peer review, constructive challenge and practical guidance to strengthen team capability and delivery quality.
•    Act as a first point of escalation for complex operational, process and control matters, coordinating resolution or escalating to the formal People Leader or accountable owner where required.
•    Coordinate priorities, dependencies and workload across relevant stakeholders and team activities to support timely and effective delivery.
•    Build and maintain broad expertise across establishment, maintenance, ongoing oversight and closure activities, including workflow management, reviews and renewals, reconciliations, data quality, evidence management, stakeholder coordination, exception resolution and escalation.
•    Provide timely, constructive guidance and challenge to support consistent execution and quality outcomes.
•    Promote disciplined execution, constructive challenge, transparency and continuous improvement across the CoE service.
•    Promote collaboration and effective knowledge sharing across locations and stakeholder groups.
•    Identify and progress practical automation and process-simplification opportunities.

Risk Management
•    Ensure operational, control and third-party risk issues are identified, recorded, assessed, escalated and tracked to closure by the accountable owner.
•    Maintain effective preventive and detective control coverage for Nostro accounts, including completeness, accuracy, authorization, status and system-record exceptions.
•    Ensure reconciliation controls are performed in accordance with documented methodology, frequency, evidence and escalation requirements.
•    Maintain appropriate challenge over incomplete, inconsistent or unsupported information.
•    Ensure material control failures, repeated exceptions, overdue activities and unresolved dependencies are escalated based on impact and ageing.
•    Strengthen audit readiness through complete records, documented decisions, retained evidence, transparent exception management and defensible reporting.
•    Protect the confidentiality, integrity and appropriate use of data and control information in accordance with Bank standards.

•    Escalate material, overdue or repeated issues to the relevant Line Manager, Business Risk Lead, Risk Framework Owner or governance forum, according to impact, materiality and ageing.
•    Ensure governance reporting is accurate, evidence-based and suitable for management, risk, compliance and audit review.
