Job Summary

The Risk Monitoring & Insights (RMI) OTCR team, established to support Group Risk and CFCC, centralizes the production and risk management activities in a service hub. This allows teams to make risk-reward decisions based on judgment and expertise, influence business and regulatory outcomes and oversee strategic risk and compliance programs. The RMI-OTCR team needs to ensure the effective, sustainable, and controlled operation of the Change Risk Assessment (CRA) and Issue and Event Management (IEM) AI enabled Tools. 

 

The role is responsible to support for the end-to-end management, product design, and continuous improvement of the CRA and IEM AI enabled Tool. This includes alert monitoring, risk insights, product governance, backlog and feature prioritisation, release readiness, user enablement, LLM output monitoring, and BAU operational support. The role acts as a bridge between business, risk, technology, AI teams, M7, 1LoD, 2LoD, and end users to ensure alerts, rules, dashboards, narratives, workflows, and product features remain accurate, effective, well-governed, user-centric, and aligned with policy, regulatory, platform, and group standards.


This is a global role, covering SCB's presence across Asia, Africa, the Middle East, Europe, and the Americas, and spans multiple business lines such as Retail Banking, Private Banking, Wealth Management, Transaction Banking, and Financial Markets.

Key Responsibilities

•    Ensure reliable, secure, and resilient operation of the tool
•    Enable proactive identification of deteriorating risks and concentrations.
•    Provide timely, accurate, and actionable risk insights to management
•    Maintain strong data quality and governance
•    Support continuous improvement and alignment with the Bank’s risk framework

Strategy
•    Understand and support the bank’s strategy to unite businesses and functions and drive organizational transformation.
•    Help build world-class Group Risk and CFCC capabilities, fostering a risk-aware and client-focused environment for the bank’s next phase of growth.

CRA and IEM Platform & Change Deployment Support
•    Support release deployments and change implementations, including coordination with Technology and business stakeholders.
•    Participate in testing activities (user acceptance testing) to validate changes and new releases.
•    Perform post-implementation validation and monitoring to ensure successful deployment and system stability, escalating issues where necessary.
•    Create, manage, and update templates based on new information from ongoing projects, audit reports, lessons learnt etc. 
•    Gather and document business requirements to define product scope. The requirements can be driven by Policy changes, Regulatory changes or user feedback
•    Prioritize backlog and product features to maximise business value, balancing cost and risks

Corporate Knowledge Database Management
•    Lead and Support for Storage, upload and manage data of past CRAs, QPRs, PIRs, ORX and any other source documents to enhance knowledge base and ensure accessibility and reliability
•    Develop process and workflow for collecting and integrating future data to support ongoing and evolving risk assessments.

CRA \ IEM AI and Machine Learning
•    Regularly train, monitor, and update AI enabled chatbot to improve accuracy and relevance. Collaborate with the CDO, AI CoE, Technology AI/ML team to update and refine LLMs, improving their accuracy and relevance.
•    Work on the continuous improvement of LLM outputs to ensure alignment with user requirements. Consolidate and share user feedback to enhance the quality and effectiveness of LLM‑generated narratives including progressively improve business prompts when there are accuracy drifts or response quality drifts. Collaborate with the Technology AI team to update and refine models, improving their accuracy and relevance.

Risk Monitoring, Alert Management & Early Warning
•    Performing daily monitoring and triage of alerts and exceptions.
•    Tracking remediation actions and associated resolution timelines to ensure timely closure.
•    Review, disseminate and support the IEM lesson learnt triggers to the downstream business users and application

Risk Insights
•    Support the delivery of insights and actions, including orchestration across the multi specialist agent architecture, and review and correct false alerts (Ad hoc, as required).
•    Review and support the AI tool generating data analysis and visualisations, bespoke insights and enabling users to drill down to the “so what.” (Ad hoc, as required)
•    Produce management information (MI) on records: volumes, severity, ageing, SLA performance, recurring themes, and top drivers.

Governance, Assurance & Continuous Improvement
•    Maintain governance for rules and operational controls, including review/approval, evidence retention, and audit readiness.
•    Run an enhancement and problem backlog driven by incident themes, user feedback, risk impact, and service health metrics.
•    Support UAT, regression testing, and post-release validation, ensuring incident fixes and control changes are tested and signed off.
•    Translating user feedback into product decisions
•    Produce service metrics, incident trends, backlog status, and SLA performance reporting.

•    Create standardized documentation using templates and agreed processes
•    Maintain process documentation, SLAs, and SOPs for pack production 
•    Support process and policy re-design

Qualifications

Overall Working Experience: 
•    Overall, 10 years of experience in Banking or Financial Institution or Regulator or Fintech or equivalent industry

Business & Contextual Experience in at least one of the below: 
•    Retail Banking
•    Wealth Management
•    Private Banking
•    Transaction Banking – Trade
•    Transaction Banking – Cash Management
•    Markets (e.g., Sales & Trading, Global Credit Markets, Private Side)

Domain and Functional Experience in one of the below: 
•    OTCR – Operational, Technology and Cyber Risk 
•    Experience in Business or Product or Non-Financial Risk (NFR) Management or Control Oversight in a front or first-line role

Other experience: 
•    Well versed with tools and techniques of analysing potential risk exposures
•    Understanding of effective communication skills.
•    Understanding of best practice risk assessment techniques and risk management frameworks.
•    Understanding of the key features of relevant laws and regulations relevant to the Group
•    Sound judgement on business practices, regulatory relationship management and reputational risk,
•    Ability to balance both detail oriented and big picture perspectives.
•    Ability to collaborate and work dynamically across functions.
