Job Description: 

Job Summary

•    The AI Product Owner – CIB Operations is responsible for owning and delivering defined AI solutions, products or product features into CIB Operations, focusing on AI-enabled digitisation of core operational processes and implementing AI‑enabled workflows. The role supports the AI product roadmap, translates CIB Operations needs into clear backlog items, and works with delivery teams to ensure timely, controlled, and user‑centred delivery. The role contributes to value realisation by driving adoption, monitoring outcomes, and continuously improving AI products and solutions based on user feedback and operational metrics. 

Key Responsibilities

Strategy
•    Define, deliver and own AI products and capabilities within CIB Operations, aligned to AI strategy, roadmap and flagship use cases
•    Support delivery of MVPs and incremental enhancements aligned to agreed roadmaps.
Business
•    Work closely with CIB Operations users and SMEs to understand pain points and improvement opportunities where AI can be a point of difference. 
•    Translate business and operational requirements into clear user stories, acceptance criteria, and prioritised backlogs for CIB AI enablement
•    Ensure delivered AI functionality meets business, control, and regulatory requirements.
•    Act as the primary point of contact for day‑to‑day AI product queries and clarifications.
•    Support benefits tracking by defining and monitoring operational KPIs (e.g. cycle time, error rates, adoption).
•    Escalate delivery risks, dependencies, or scope issues to senior product leadership in a timely manner.
Processes
•    Participate in sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives with engineering and delivery teams.
•    Support user readiness and adoption through clear process design, documentation, and user walkthroughs. 
•    Ensure new products or changes are embedded into existing operational processes with minimal disruption. 
•    Collect and analyse user feedback and usage data to inform backlog refinement and prioritisation.
People & Talent
•    Drive a mindset shift for AI enablement via early wins, feedback loops, and user engagement
•    Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values. Sets appropriate tone and expectations for the squads and work in collaboration with all partners

Risk Management
•    Ensure product requirements incorporate appropriate internal controls, data handling standards, and risk considerations.
•    Work with Risk, Compliance, and Technology partners to address control gaps or audit actions relevant to the product.
•    Demonstrate awareness of key operational risks and follow established procedures for issue escalation and remediation.
Governance
•    Ensure compliance with all salient SCB governance frameworks where there are direct touch points with them or any subsequent downstream influence from the AI enablement Team
•    Represent the AI enablement team at any relevant investment and risk Forums and Committees

Qualifications

•    Degree level education or equivalent practical experience. 
•    8-10 years of experience in product ownership, business analysis, operations change, or technology delivery within financial services. 
•    Experience with AI products, tools and solutions
•    Exposure to CIB Operations, process improvement, or workflow digitisation in a banking environment preferred. 
•    Familiarity with agile delivery methods (e.g. Scrum, Kanban).
