Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Development Lead to be part of Legal, Audit, Risk & CFCC domains who is highly skilled in designing and architecting large and complex micro service applications.  Delivering value to our customers is at the core of what our teams do - this role works closely with senior business stakeholders and enterprise architecture to ensure alignment of application architecture to broader enterprise architecture patterns and strategies. 

This role will be responsible for developing and maintaining a robust and scalable micro service applications that meets the needs of our legal, risk, audit, and compliance technology initiatives. This role will closely with cross-functional teams to identify the needs of the business and design cloud native solutions that meet these needs. 

This role will have following responsibilities.  
•    Understand the overall domain architecture and manage changes within them.
•    Understand the applications within the domain and become knowledgeable on them.
•    Have proficiency in Front End UI (Lit, Typescript, ReactJS, Java scripts, HTML, CSS, Bootstrap).
•    Have proficiency in API development with Java/Spring Boot/Kotlin/GraphQL.
•    Able to work independently, self-enabled & motivated personality. 
•    Use the Escalation Matrix for tasks that are showstoppers or blockers to meet the timeline.
•    Good foundation in algorithms and web design.
•    Experience in designing RESTful APIs and writing highly secure web applications.
•    Develop automated tests to ensure business needs are met and allow for regression testing.
•    Mentor and coach engineers to ensure that they follow standards and principals in daily work and grow in technical aspect.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy
•    Clear understanding of the Enterprise Architecture patterns and strategy.
•    Drive the simplification, standardization, improve reusability of the solutions and adoption of industry best practices across all data applications in the domains
•    Work with other Application Architects & Engineering leads across Functions Architecture and Group Architecture to ensure that Group and Functions Architecture Strategies are executed within the area of responsibility.
•    Drive optimisation with a rigorous focus on efficiency & optimisation of application infrastructure capacity.
•    Drive innovation in improving the quality of the data and in monetizing the data

Business
•    In-depth understanding of Risk, CFCR, Legal and Audit domains and data products of these domains.
•    Awareness and understanding of the wider business, economic and market environment in which the group operates.
•    Knowledge of end-to-end data flows for Legal, Audit, Risk and Compliance domains
•    Understanding of regulatory frameworks like BCBS239 which mandate data lineage and data quality standards.
•    Managing the technology evolution and maintaining its long-term vision & roadmap and communicating the technology vision & strategy to stakeholders by participating RFs and QPRs.

Processes
•    Applying domain driven design to the use case and identifying bounded contexts, entities, value objects and aggregates. 
•    In-depth understanding of micro service patterns and distributed computing architecture & patterns
•    Creating and maintaining architectural documentation and diagrams, and for communicating the design and technical direction to the development team.
•    Prepare Solution Intent documents and work with domain architects in getting it approved
•    Perform threat modelling & prepare sTK and work with security architecture teams to get sTK reviewed and approved.
•    Present proposed solutions in ARF and FTC and working with domain architects to get approvals
•    Identifying and addressing any technical issues or bottlenecks in the application, and for leading technical discussions and reviews
•    Work with hive leads and engineering teams to ensure data applications are complaint with SCM, SDF and ICS standards and adopt bank standard CI/CD pipelines. 
•    Establish and publish engineering best practices and standards for Engineering teams and ensure that Engineering teams follow these standards.
•    Help in the selection of technologies and frameworks to be used in the development of the applications and help in the design of the system's infrastructure and deployment.
•    Bring outside in view of industry trends and emerging technologies to development teams and management. 
•    Improve speed to value by adopting composable and evolutionary architectures and increasing the reusability.
•    Identifying and addressing scalability, performance, and security issues in Legal, Audit, Risk and CFCC data applications. 

People & Talent
•    Provide Design, Architecture and Engineering guidance to the Project team
•    Helping engineering teams to become more productive by empowering them with modern tool stack and helping them to shift left the DevOps and DevSecOps practices &tools
•    Work with Project teams to lead and drive Evaluations and Proof of Concepts for new technologies and other strategic technology initiatives
•    Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values. Work in collaboration with risk and control partners.
•    Increasing participation in technical communities and guilds
•    Build future pipeline of engineering talent by upskilling and reskilling the existing engineers

Risk Management
•    Work closely with Project Team to ensure projects are implemented in line with approved Architecture and Target Architecture.
•    Work with project team closely to address day to day architecture and engineering challenges
•    Work with hive leads and engineering teams to ensure all our applications are complaint with SCM, SDF and ICS standards and adopt bank standard CI/CD pipelines. 

Governance
•    Responsible to work with project Team to ensure submissions to Architecture Review Forum (ARF) and Functions Technology Council (FTC) meet the required level of due diligence and quality from an architecture perspective.
•    Responsible to ensure that Application/Project level architecture processes and any related deliverables are completed/met.
