Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated Application Architect, who is highly skilled in designing scalable secure and performant distributed systems for complex use cases in Legal, Audit, Risk and CFCC domain. Delivering value to our customers is at the core of what our teams do - this role works closely with Enterprise architecture teams to ensure alignment of application architecture to broader enterprise architecture patterns and strategies.
This role leads the change and transformation in Legal, Audit, Risk and CFCC domains, by modernizing the architecture as per the bank’s standards and by working with multiple software teams to help them becoming high-performing and continuously innovate and optimise the application design, architecture, and capacity.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy
- Clear understanding of the Enterprise Architecture patterns and strategy.
- Drive the Transformation towards cloud native and cloud deployed application architecture
- Drive optimisation with a rigorous focus on efficiency & optimisation of application infrastructure capacity.
Business
- Awareness and understanding of the wider business, economic and market environment in which the group operates.
Processes
- Work with Solution Architects in Architecture Team to ensure that Project/Application Architecture, Architecture Strategy, Standards, Process, Best Practices.
- Work with Project Team and Vendors to ensure that Patterns and Best Practices are being considered and applied appropriately.
- Ensure vendor relationships are appropriately managed in partnership with Supply Chain Management Team wherever required.
People & Talent
- Provide Architecture and Engineering guidance to the Project team
- Responsible for creating, maintaining Project/Application-level architecture documentation and Roadmaps
- Work with Project teams to lead and drive Evaluations and Proof of Concepts for new technologies and other strategic technology initiatives
- Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values. Work in collaboration with risk and control partners.
- Participate and contribute effectively to technical chapters such as Java, kubernetes and micro services guilds.
- Responsible for uplifting our capability of Legal, Audit, Risk and CFCC teams in implementing solution using modern technologies.
- Take Active participation in key technical hires to continuously upskill technical depth of the team.
Risk Management
- Work closely with Project Team to ensure projects are implemented in line with approved Architecture and Target Architecture.
- Work with project team closely to address day to day architecture and engineering challenges
Governance
- Responsible to work with project Team to ensure submissions to Architecture Review Forum (ARF) and Functions Technology Council (FTC) meet the required level of due diligence and quality from an architecture perspective.
- Responsible to ensure that Application/Project level architecture processes and any related deliverables are completed/met.
Regulatory & Business Conduct

Qualifications
- EDUCATION Bachelor or master’s degree in computer engineering / Computer Science preferred.
