Job Summary

Analyst part of the team primarily responsible for conducting due diligence on Insurance Service Providers. The team’s coverage is global, including both offshore and onshore products across Standard Chartered Bank’s footprint. 

Key Responsibilities

Strategy
•    Awareness and understanding of the Group's business strategy and model appropriate to the role.

Business
•    Lead team responsible for Insurance Service Provider (ISP) due diligence.
•    Awareness and understanding of Insurance business, economic and market environment in which the Group operates. 
•    Good understanding of Insurance Domain both Life and GI.
•    Good understanding on how to read Insurance company’s Financial Statements. 
•    Good understating on Sanctions, AML, and ABC.
•    Excellent analytical skills, be comfortable working with large data sets, and have a logical mindset with attention to detail
•    Have strong knowledge of Excel, Powerpoint and VBA

Processes
Insurance Service Provider (ISP) due diligence.
•    Deliver high quality due diligence for onboarding new ISP and renewing existing ISP.
•    Review and ensure completeness and accuracy of the documents submitted for ISP due diligence.
•    Co-ordinate with ISP, Country Banca team, PvB team, Group CFCC, Group Risk and Group Banca 
•    Effectively communicate the Status of the provider due diligence with relevant stakeholders on a timely manner.
•    Update and maintain ISP tracker and ensure ISP are reviewed on a timely manner. 
•    Escalate on a timely manner as per escalation matrix on a timely manner.
•    Archive the documentation as per Group policy. 
•    Support any Audit done on Group Banca 
•    Periodically review the Due Diligence process and suggest /implement improvements in concurrence with relevant stakeholders.
•    Keep track of updates to group guidelines and update / enhance the Due Diligence process where required.
•    Share monthly dashboard on the status of ISP and Product Due Diligence

Business Analytics
•    The individual will source large sets of data from multiple sources (files, APIs, databases), transform and normalise the data, and present it in dashboards or similar visualisation tools to assist with reporting, management, tracking, and analysis of the data to draw insights and make recommendations. They will also be responsible for distribution of business performance for periodic reporting to management.

People & Talent
•    Lead team through example and build the appropriate culture and values. 

Risk Management
•    Ensure all works to be processed and completed with full adherence to internally policies.

Governance
•    Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework, in which we operate. 
•    Closely work with country Banca teams to ensure our works fulfils the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role.

Qualifications

•    Education-Tertiary education
•    Training-Minimum 5-7 years industry experience    
•    Certifications-Relevant irda certificationc(ic38) / loma / ains / cpcu
