Key Responsibilities

End to end ownership of the process cost performance management services covering retail risk Function / Segment / Regions. Ensure high quality service delivery through measurable performance metrics ensuring effective control, stakeholder engagement and leadership development.]

 

Strategy

  • The mitigation of risk by providing accurate and timely information necessary to support management decisions.
  • Protection of the Bank’s reputation.  Bank’s ability to meet legal and regulatory obligations.  Minimizing risk of Bank being used by money launderers.
  • Ensure compliance with ALL internal policies and regulatory requirements.

Business

Wealth & Retail Banking (WRB) risk cost forecasting and reporting

  • Monitoring end to end Global Retail Risk Cost; Analysis of Variances, Run-Rate, One- offs,  Normalisations, monthly forecasting for 30 Markets 
  • Preparation of annual Corporate plan( 5 Years), discussion & review with Countries and group heads.  Addressing countries heads queries efficiently, loading numbers in hyperion, various reconciliation before locking down the numbers
  • Supporting Group in setting up cost target for retail risk, stretch allocation in markets and tracking the performance of cost stretch month & month. Monthly Cost efficiency save analysis & presentation for retail risk heads
  • Ensure the timely & accurate delivery of performance management reporting (flash, commentary, outlooks, strategic initiative tracking, collections Capacity Plan reports etc) and drive the automation of performance dashboards)
  • Deliver insightful & actionable ad-hoc analysis in respect to productivity and cost opportunities as well as identifying and articulating key risks to senior management to drive decision making.
  • Month end accrual, ageing  analysis and Financial control substantiation
  • Headcount Capacity Plan reporting for Collections 

 

Processes

  • Responsible for End to end ownership of the process cost performance management services covering retail risk Function / Segment / Regions. Ensure high quality service delivery through measurable performance metrics ensuring effective control, stakeholder engagement and leadership development.

People & Talent

  • Ensuring that the necessary trainings (on-the-job or classroom) are conducted to the team and provide required job knowledge. 
  • Ensure quality processing and adherence to all key controls and checks.
  • Responsible for handling all queries relating to the reports produced.

Risk Management

  • Work closely with the country risk teams.
  • Compliance with all relevant policies and procedure, guidelines, rules & regulations

Governance

  • Proper documentations like EUC, BIA, BCP, BID, Migration Checklists, SLAs, Recharge Documents, DOI, Change Templates etc. needs to be documented appropriately.
  • Ensuring that proper backups are being arranged for critical reports.
  • Ensure that the Cost Budgets are met according to management targets

Cost Reporting, Forecasting & Budgeting and Productivity Reporting

  • Monitoring end to end Wealth & Retail Banking (WRB) Risk Cost; Analysis of Variances, commentaries, drivers and messaging on cost movement  
  • Cost monthly forecasting [cost base ~USD90 mio across 30 markets]
  • Prepare high-level insight to senior stakeholders on monthly P&L position, Capture key drivers for actuals vs. budget and YoY variances 
  • Ensure the timely & accurate delivery of performance management Reports (Various monthly reports like- flash, commentary, outlooks, strategic initiative tracking)
  • Prepare quarterly P&L messaging for the Regions/Segments, ensuring key story has been captured to provide meaningful insight 
  • Manage WRB LI and expenses Planning during the Target Setting and Corporate Plan cycles. [Preparation, review, Challenge, finalisation & submission] 
  • Manage Investments and efficiency for WRB Risk. Develop and monitor the KPIs for cost & productivity management and highlights areas for management review. Presenting WRB Risk into key forums
  • Develop plan on cost Saving opportunities and help implement to meet the expense goal
  • Support and drive digitisation agenda, project management including streamlining reporting whilst ensuring key stakeholder requirements are covered
  • Month end accrual, ageing analysis and Financial control substantiation
  • Headcount Capacity Planning for Collections

Skills and Experience

  • Adequate knowledge around MS Office as these tools are primarily used to produce the MIS and also able to troubleshoot and resolve issues on these tools.    
  • Hands on experience of Oracle / SAP / Hyperion/ ERPs    
  • Ensuring that the necessary trainings (on-the-job or classroom) are conducted to the team and provide required job knowledge.    
  • Knowledge of visualisation tools and  automation techniques will be an added advantage.    

Qualifications

  • Education
    • Commerce Graduate/MBA/CA/CMA with 4-6 years of Experience in Banking Industry
    • Good understanding of P&L Cost and Balance sheet 
    • In-depth knowledge relevant key performance measures of Credit Risk and retail Banking
    • Experience in Cost Management, Financial planning & analysis(FP&A)
    • System/App knowledge Hyperion, MRC, SAP, Finance analytics, 
    • Advance Excel & PowerPoint. SAS would be an advantage
    • Analytical mindset, attention to detail and ability to think logically 
    • Prior experience of working with SAS software is desired / required.
    • A fair understanding of the innovations in banking & emerging technologies.
    • Organizational visibility of outcomes and benefits.
    • Analytical and dispute resolution skills. 
  • Languages - Proficient in English
