Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced AVP Marketing to join our Design Studio team in Bangalore. The ideal candidate will lead a talented team of content writers, designers and marketing professionals in developing engaging, impactful collateral for both internal and external communications. This senior leadership role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership capabilities, deep understanding of content creation, and the ability to collaborate effectively across global teams.

Key Responsibilities

Team leadership and management:
•    Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of content creators and designers professionals to produce high-quality internal and external communication materials including pitchbooks, social media posts, presentations, video, multimedia content, etc.
•    Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture that drives creative excellence
•    Manage team performance, provide guidance for skill enhancement, and identify training needs within the team
•    Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and development of team member

Content strategy and development
•    Develop and implement comprehensive content strategies aligned with organisational goals, brand values, and business objectives
•    Drive content planning, strategy, and business development initiatives across all platforms
•    Oversee the creation of various content types including written, visual, multimedia materials, and video scripts
•    Ensure content meets high standards of accuracy, clarity, consistency, and brand alignment
•    Create content for key communications and project

Cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management
•    Work closely with various departments within the bank to understand their communication needs and ensure content aligns with company values and tone of voice
•    Demonstrate senior stakeholder management skills and effectively manage relationships with global project teams and campaigns
•    Lead large teams and cater to global projects with cross-functional remote team collaboration
•    Bring inside-out and outside-in perspectives to propose development of plans 

Project and campaign management
•    Effectively manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities within the content and marketing team
•    Lead global project and campaign initiatives from conception to execution
•    Ensure timely delivery of all content deliverables while maintaining quality standards
•    Implement robust project management processes and best practices
•    Analytics and performance management, utilise analytics tools to measure the effectiveness of content and marketing initiatives
•    Make data-driven decisions for continuous improvement and optimisation and drive outcome-driven results through strategic planning and executio

Quality assurance and brand management, ensure all content meets high standards of accuracy, clarity, and consistency

•    Troubleshoot current issues and implement solutions post a thorough analysis of industry best practices and help establish proper objectives and goals (e.g., available through industry reports)
•    Outstanding conceptual skills, stakeholder orientation, mental agility, and outcome driven

Drive business growth by identifying new market opportunities and forging strategic partnerships to expand brand reach and revenue

•    Set and implement the vision, strategy, direction and leadership for the business teams, consistent with the vision and strategy of the Global business functions and in support of the Bank’s strategic direction and growth aspirations 

Business
•    Responsibilities related to the delivery of business and / or financial objectives, for example, Awareness and understanding of the wider business, economic and market environment in which the Group operate
 

Processes
•    Reference the processes for which the Role Holder is responsible, as per the Operational Risk Framework definition of first / second line, for example, Responsible for executing and supervising the Budget process.

People & Talent 
• Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values. Set appropriate tone and expectations from their team and work in collaboration with risk and control partners. 
•    Ensure the provision of ongoing training and development of people, and ensure that holders of all critical functions are suitably skilled and qualified for their roles ensuring that they have effective supervision in place to mitigate any risks
•    Employ, engage and retain high quality people, with succession planning for critical roles.
•    Responsibility to review team structure/capacity plans.
•    Set and monitor job descriptions and objectives for direct reports and provide feedback and rewards in line with their performance against those responsibilities and objectives

Risk Management
•    Responsibilities relating to identifying, assessing, monitoring, controlling and mitigating risks to the Group, as well as an awareness and understanding of the main risks facing the Group and the role the individual plays in managing them. For example -The ability to interpret the Group’s financial information, identify key issues based on this information and put in place appropriate controls and measures 


Governance 
•    Responsibilities relating to the direction, planning, structure, frameworks (e.g. processes and policies) and oversight. For example, Responsible for assessing the effectiveness of the Group’s arrangements to deliver effective governance, oversight and controls in the business and, if necessary, oversee changes in these areas; Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework, in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role

Regulatory & Business Conduct 
•    Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct. 
•    Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
•    Lead to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank’s Conduct Principles 
•    Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters

Skills and Experience

•    Bachelor's/Master’s degree in Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
•    Proven experience in a leadership role within a content creation team.
•    Strong understanding of content strategy, messaging, and internal communications.
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
•    Proficiency in project management and content creation.
•    Ability to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
•    Analytical mindset with a focus on continuous improvement. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to proactively identify opportunities and drive results
•    Experience of working in a cross functional remote global team
