Job Summary
• The Senior Manager, Cost Management Centre of Excellence (COE) at Standard Chartered GBS will enable business owners, function heads, and senior management with data and analysis support to understand, assess, verify, and challenge business performance related aspects (Cost, Revenue, investments, and Headcount)
Key Responsibilities
- Lead investment analytics delivery
Own end-to-end execution across spend analytics, benefits tracking, delivery performance, and data management, ensuring consistent portfolio-wide insights
• Drive cost transparency and financial control
Establish clear visibility across budgets, forecasts, actuals, and allocations, with structured tracking of cost drivers, utilisation, and overruns
• Lead cost optimisation and efficiency initiatives
Identify cost reduction opportunities through benchmarking, deep-dives, and resource optimisation, driving actionable outcomes across portfolios
• Enable portfolio performance and early risk visibility
Oversee tracking of milestones, risks, dependencies, and KPIs, with forward-looking views on delivery slippage, cost overruns, and benefit erosion
• Own benefits realisation and value tracking
Drive robust tracking of realised vs. planned benefits, including variance analysis and elimination of duplicate benefit attribution
• Build scalable data and reporting ecosystem
Standardise data, automate reporting, and deliver executive-ready dashboards and insights to support stakeholder decision making.
Skills and Experience
· 9+ years of experience in banking / consulting (with global banks), with focus on cost control, optimisation, and investment analytics
· Strong understanding of front-office cost drivers, banking products, and P&L dynamics
· Experience in investment analytics and portfolio performance tracking, including benefits realisation and delivery metrics
· Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills
· Experience with analytics and visualization tools (Tableau / Power BI preferred; familiarity with Clarity or similar portfolio management tools is a plus)
· Exposure to investor relations / senior stakeholder engagement is advantageous
· Strategic mindset, with ability to structure complex data into clear, actionable insights
· Strong communication, presentation, and documentation skills, with experience engaging senior stakeholders
· Strong problem-solving ability, with a proactive approach to identifying opportunities and driving outcomes
· Prior team management experience is a plus
Qualifications
• MBA, PGDM, CA
• Certifications in CFA, FRM
