Title: Asst Manager, Data Discovery
Bangalore, IN
Job Summary
Support business and functions to on-board their data sources to the data discovery product for purpose of data discovery and classification and to assist the product owner in product capability enhancements.
Key Responsibilities
Business
• Undertake requirements solicitation from stakeholders/end users and turn them into well-formed formal Business Requirements Documents (BRD) or User Stories.
• Perform As-Is / To-Be process mapping.
• Partner with other delivery teams to ensure solution definition meets requirements and is delivered with accuracy and quality.
• Enable clear traceability of the requirements (starting with the BRD / user stories) and usage of process flow diagrams, “AS IS” and “TO BE” processes clearly documented
• Develop clear test scenarios / exit criteria and engage testing team well ahead to drive the quality of testing.
• Configure Big ID to meet data classification requirements specified by standard owners of data conduct risk, DPTP work streams, and Information Cyber Security teams.
• Analyse and identify data elements subject to the various privacy laws applicable for the bank
• Create a data classification registry depicting the various data classification taxonomy and hierarchy
• Be involved in the change management governance process to ensure that there is a smooth transition from Project to BAU
Processes
• Document the process defined for the onboarding of data sources to the data Classification tool – BigID
• Document the process defined for the lifecycle of data classification
• Document the roles/personas defined/identified in the data classification lifecycle.
Governance
• Ensure Self’s adherence to the group code of conduct and compliance with relevant policies, processes and regulations.
Regulatory & Business Conduct
• Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.
• Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
• Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters
Key stakeholders
• Standards owners of data conduct risk.
• Information Cyber Security stakeholders including ICS Controls and Data Protection
• System owners across Business and Functions, including Group and countries.
• Owners of key document repositories and platforms, such as Sharepoint, One-drive, file servers, etc.
• Group and country compliance teams
• DPTP squads and Data Management Partners.
• BigID – vendor of data discovery and classification tool.
Other Responsibilities
• Embed Here for good and Group’s brand and values in Group CDO, Data Discovery team in India; Perform other responsibilities assigned under Group, Country, Business or Functional policies and procedures;
Skills and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree or higher qualification
• Prior work experience in a Bank or a Financial Institution with good understanding of Banking data and processes.
• Extensive experience in one or more data management disciplines including data discovery, data classification, data privacy, records management, data sovereignty.
• Experience as business analysts responsible for documenting business requirements or user stories.
• Practical experience with Data Discovery tools, such as BigID, Informatica, Alation, SecuritiAI, etc, preferred.
• Excellent analytic skills, with strong attention to details and good problem solving skills
• Confident and effective in both oral and written communication.
