Job Summary
Product Specialist is the driver of solution to the business requirement or user journey. The job holder has sound understanding on the product capabilities of the system/platform and able to drive solution with product owner, architect, vendor and supporting technology team. The job holder possesses deep Wealth Journey / WM Advisory knowledge with right skills and experiences to work on product innovation along with team and product vendors. They work with product owner to derive product/system roadmap to deliver fit for purpose capabilities. This person should also be committed to the discovery and development of innovative solutions in an ever-changing digital landscape in banking industry.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy
- Execution of functional standards and best practices
- Acts as a conduit for the wider domain strategy, for example technical standards.
- Prioritises and makes available capacity for technical debt.
Business
- Experienced practitioner and hands on contribution to the squad delivery for their craft (Eg. Engineering).
- Responsible to evolve the craft towards improving automation, simplification and innovative use of latest market trends.
Processes
- Adopt and embed the Change Delivery Standards throughout the lifecycle of the product / service.
- Follows the chapter operating model to ensure a system exists to continue to build capability and performance of the chapter.
Risk Management
- Follows the standards with respect to risk management as applicable to their chapter domain.
- Adheres to common practices to mitigate risk in their respective domain.
Governance
- Ensure all artefacts and assurance deliverables are as per the required standards and policies (e.g., SCB Governance Standards, ESDLC etc.).
Regulatory & Business Conduct
- Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.
- Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
- Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.
Key stakeholders
- Global Wealth Management Product Owners, for business priority and initiatives.
- Business & Technology Managers, for solution design and delivery.
Other Responsibilities
- Embed Here for good and Group’s brand and values in Wealth Journey squad;
- Perform other responsibilities assigned under Group, Country, Business or Functional policies and procedures
Skills and Experience
- Java 11 and above with rules engine
- Databases – Oracle, MS SQL, PostgreSQL
- Container Platform – OCP, AKS, EKS
- Agile Methodologies
- Software Change Request Management
- Application Delivery Process
- Technical Troubleshooting
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree, or higher, in computer science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
Training
- At least 12 years of experience in IT industry and 5 years in WM Advisory systems.
- Strong understanding of WM Advisory systems’ architecture, functionality, and capabilities, with hands-on experience in solution design, configuration, customisation, and integration.
- Prior experience with Finantix Platform will be added advantage.
