Job Description: 

Job Summary

Responsible for execution and ownership of Data Quality (DQ) risk management across Digital Channel Solutions (DCS), covering both business-as-usual (BAU) control execution and delivery of new regulatory and policy-driven DQ initiatives.

 

The role ensures all Data Quality risks are identified, assessed, remediated, and governed in line with the Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF), Data Quality Management Standards (DQMS), and regulatory expectations.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy
•    Execute the DCS Risk Management agenda in alignment with ERMF and CCIB risk frameworks
•    Deliver full compliance with updated Policies and Standards 
•    Deliver DCS risk and control objectives for Data Governance
•    Contribute to identification of thematic and emerging data risks across processes


Business
•    Uplift controls in alignment with Data Quality Management Standards v2.0)
•    Embed Data Quality by Design change management processes across DCS
•    Execute and maintain Data Quality controls ensuring full control coverage is implemented and monitored 
•    Implement and operationalise Data Quality controls for projects, eg ISO CBPR+
•    Identify, track, and remediate control gaps to closure with complete and audit-ready evidence, eg for BCBS 239, FRBNY 
•    Provide risk support and advisory to Product Owners, Technology, and Operations teams on DQ control requirements
•    Ensure alignment of DQ deliverables with audit commitments and regulatory obligations


Processes
•    Execute Data Quality control across DCS Process Universe, including: 

•    Data identification and maintenance (eg CDEs, non CDEs)
•    Control design (preventive and detective)
•    Data validation, monitoring, and issue management

•    Support end-to-end delivery of RTP actions, including tracking, validation, and closure evidence
•    Partner with product and technology to embed controls into systems
•    Maintain complete, accurate, and auditable documentation

People & Talent 
•    Develop strong subject matter expertise in Data Risk, preferably in Data Quality area.
•    Work across Product, Technology and Risk stakeholders
•    Provide effective challenge to ensure ownership of risks and controls

 

Risk Management
•    Support as 1LoD control owner / delegate for assigned Data Quality risks
•    Identify, assess, monitor, and mitigate risks in line with ERMF
•    Ensure all control gaps are clearly defined and implemented
•    Validate remediation actions and confirm sufficiency for audit and 2LoD review
•    Escalate material risks or delays through governance forums


Governance 
•    Support establishment and enforcement of DQ governance standards and procedures
•    Provide risk reporting into governance forums (e.g. Risk Forum, audit updates)
•    Ensure full audit readiness of DQ artefacts (controls, methodology, evidence packs)
•    Support engagement with GIA, 2LoD, and regulatory stakeholders
•    Drive consistency and standardisation across products

Regulatory & Business Conduct 
•    Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct. 
•    Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
•    Lead the DCS Product Owners to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank’s Conduct Principles: Fair Outcomes for Clients; Financial Crime Compliance; The Right Environment. 
•    Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.
•    Exercise authorities delegated by the Board of Directors and act in accordance with Articles of Association (or equivalent)

Qualifications

•    5–8 years in Risk, Control, or Data Governance within financial services
•    Hands-on delivery experience in: 

•    Data Quality / CDE frameworks
•    RTP execution and audit remediation
•    Regulatory / policy-driven programmes (e.g. DQMS, ISO)

•    Strong understanding of ERMF and 1LoD / 2LoD model
•    Proven ability to translate policy requirements into implemented controls
•    Strong execution, analytical, and stakeholder management skills
