Job Summary

Overview
• The Group Chief Data Office at Standard Chartered is seeking an experienced & user centric Product Owner to drive value maximization for the Bank from Data Privacy capabilities/ products built for the Bank.  
• The Product Owner is an empowered decision maker, accountable for delivering in line with the Domain/Function/Region’s OKRs and KPIs.  
• The Product Owner will work with multiple stakeholders, whilst retaining overall accountability. 

Product Management
• Accountable for leading establishment and then delivering the OKRs and KPIs of the Product(s).
• Accountable for value creation & maximization for the Bank through the product.
• Lead with a product-oriented mindset, be a problem solver, value creator & obsessively user centric.
• Define and communicate the product vision to stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain a product roadmap that aligns with business goals and customer needs.
• Create, prioritize, and manage the product backlog, ensuring that development efforts are focused on delivering maximum value.
• Accountable for full delivery oversight of the prioritised Unified Backlog with adherence to governance and controls and, if necessary, oversee changes in these areas. 
• Act as the primary point of contact for all product-related matters.

• Communicate product updates, progress, and challenges to stakeholders, including senior management.
• Establish and maintain robust controls to ensure adherence of the Product with relevant Bank Standards
• Be Voice of the customer by ensuring the product is intuitive, user-friendly & enables users positively. 
• Identify complexities and simplify.
• Monitor product performance, adoption, gather & incorporate feedback from stakeholders to continuously improve the product.
• Participate in Scrum ceremonies.
• Provide clarity to team on prioritisation and empower them to make independent delivery decisions in alignment with relevant scorecard metrics.
• Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to address operational bottlenecks, aligning data flows with business and technology requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy
• Define/ refine the product vision & target state for the product (s). Develop a strategy and roadmap to reach the target state.
• Drive and extend use of product(s) within the Bank.
• Support the implementation of Data Strategy by the CDO and the establishment of a data community in the Bank
• Perform detailed planning and impact assessments, analyse against requirements, drivers, high-level solutioning, key milestones, benefits, costs etc.
• Review development proposals, confirm if they should proceed, secure support and funding.

Business
• Be the product owner for Product(s) in Data Privacy space.
• Engage key stakeholders in business and functions teams to understand their requirements and challenges in use of the Product(s).
• Ensure successful adoption of the Product(s) by the users. Continue to look for ways to increase awareness and to improve user experience.
• Ensure appropriate training materials are available & up to date on Product(s).
• Ensure alignment between product development and operations for Product(s).
• Drive operational excellence and continuous improvement of the Product(s).
• Ensure effective Change assessment consulting with relevant Business/Function representatives, 
• Perform initial initiative delivery risk assessment with Subject Matter Experts, Process Owners, Risk Owners etc. as required.
• Ensure that audit actions are carried out timely and there is evidence to support proper execution of the audit actions.

People & Talent 
• Prioritise book of work to maintain balance between demand and supply based on existing team capacity.
• Develop subject matter expertise in the team for Product(s).
• Enhance team’s overall knowledge in data management.
• Cultivate trust among team members to facilitate teamwork and enhance team efficiency.
• Lead and support a change in mindset, building a culture of client centricity, agility, and accountability through standardised metrics and measurement, ensuring the team are drivers and owners of client outcomes.

Risk Management
• Assess risks that threaten processes related to Product(s) and design control measures that could mitigate the risks effectively.
• Ensure that key control activities are being carried out as design and monitor effectiveness of the control measures.

Governance
• Ensure team’s adherence to the group code of conduct and compliance with relevant policies, processes and regulations.

Regulatory & Business Conduct 
• Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct. 
• Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
• Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

• Embed Here for good and Group’s brand and values in CDO; Perform other responsibilities assigned under Group, Country, Business or Functional policies and procedures; Multiple functions (double hats)

Qualifications

• IAPP certified in CIPPE/ CIPT or other relevant certification in Data Privacy.
• 10+ years of experience in Data Privacy in large global Banks.
• Strong track record in conceptualizing, delivering, owning & evolving technology products / capabilities in Data Privacy.
• Prior experience as Product owner strongly preferred.
• Excellent stakeholder management & communication skills.
• Must have understanding of Technology to be able to discuss and understand technology. design approach, constraints and take informed decisions for Product.
• Strong decision-making skills.
• Logical & critical thinking ability.
• Knowledge of Privacy Risk Assessment
• In tune with latest developments in Privacy Regulations.
• Able to drive simplification from complexity.
• Adept at using productivity applications including MS word, excel, PowerPoint.
