Job Summary

Develop the strategic direction and roadmap for SCPAY, aligning with Business Strategy, ITO Strategy and investment priorities. Tap into latest industry trends, innovative products & solutions to deliver effective and faster product capabilities. Support CASH Management Operations leveraging technology to streamline processes, enhance productivity, reduce risk and improve controls

Key Responsibilities

Strategy

•    Supports Hive Tech Lead on Technology strategy, roadmap and execution.

•    Support Chief Product Owner & Hive Tech Lead on analysis for planning, budgeting and QPR reporting, including trade-off analysis.

•    Deliver outputs that make a significant contribution to the organization's strategic goals.

•    Partner with stakeholders to determine the right solutions to business needs.

Business

•    Promote engineering craftmanship and focus on delivering business value.

•    Responsible for technical delivery and technical excellence across the squads.

•    Works across multiple squads or hives for delivery of complex Features, Epics & Releases.

•    Point of escalation for delivery issues across all impacted hives and squads.

•    Work with Change Delivery Manager (Release Manager) to develop delivery and release plans with technical dependencies, aligning all partners with support from the team and architect.

•    Exhibit passion for client experience with a user-first mindset.

•    Drive the domain towards future state of banking and technology.

•    Ensure the technical consistency of solutions in the Hive with the business architecture, technology architecture and enterprise technology standards.

Processes

•    Study existing engineering processes and contribute to improvements to drive up efficiencies. Present ideas across other areas and foster innovation.

•    Analyze, remove, or mitigate dependencies across teams to enable speed and quality of delivery.

•    Responsible in the preparation of production outputs and their planning in alignment to ESDLC standards.

•    Vendor Data Management - reviewing the data handling practices from the vendor to ensure they adhere to the data protection regulation and best practices defined by Standard Chartered bank.

People & Talent

•    May also take on Chapter Leadership as long as he/she is an active practitioner in the craft of the Chapter that they lead; i.e., has full accountability to the growth of the Chapter, and not solely an line management responsibility.

•    Employ, engage and retain high quality talent that the team is adequately staffed and skilled to deliver on business commitments.

•    Work on upskilling of technical expertise in line with latest market trend.

•    Mentoring and training the squad on technical skills.

•    Work with Hive Tech Lead to ensure the agreed blend and balance of in-house and vendor resources.

Skills and Experience

Minimum 13 yrs of experience in the Engineering Lead role and in that a minimum 3 years of experience as EL role is an added advantage.
Ability to work with geographically dispersed and highly varied stakeholders.
Very Good communication and interpersonal skills to manage senior stakeholders and top management.
Knowledge on JIRA and Confluence tools are desired.

Technical Knowledge: Java / Spring Boot, Kafka Streams, REST, JSON, Netflix Micro Services suite ( Zuul / Eureka / Hystrix etc., ), 12 Factor Apps, Oracle, PostgresSQL, Cassandra & ELK

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent degree
