Job Summary
Development Lead is responsible for overseeing the development team, and ensuring the successful delivery of software solutions as aligned to business strategies and priorities. This role involves leadership, strategic technical forecasting, and hands-on technical expertise to guide and support the development team members in achieving organizational goals, while fostering a positive and encouraging team environment.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy
• Align development projects with the organization's strategic goals and objectives.
• Contribute to the development of the technology roadmap and long-term planning.
• Identify opportunities for innovation and technological advancements to support business growth.
Business
• Collaborate with product owners, integration partners and other stakeholders to help team understand business requirements and targets.
• Contribute to book of work forecasting and planning of solutions as aligned to business strategies.

People & Talent
• Lead through example, mentor, and manage a team of software developers in alignment to bank values.
• Foster a collaborative and productive team environment.
• Conduct performance reviews and provide regular, timely feedback to team members and partners. Work closely with chapter leads.
Risk Management
• Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and security requirements.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement controls to minimize project and operational risks.
Governance
• Enforce existing governance frameworks for development.
• Review and approve code, design documents, and technical specifications to ensure quality and compliance.
• Facilitate and support audit activities and reviews to ensure adherence to governance policies and standards.
Regulatory & Business Conduct
• Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.
• Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. Qualifications
• 10+ Years of experience in Application Development using Java and Advance Technologies tool

• Extensive experience in building extensible and scalable solutions
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Good knowledge in DevOps, CI-CD
• Understanding on source control, versioning, branching etc.
• Experienced in Agile methodology and Waterfall models
• Strong experience in Application Delivery, that also includes Production Support
• Good interpersonal, presentation and documentation skills
• Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies and frameworks
• Awareness about Release Management
• Strong team player who can collaborate effectively with relevant stakeholders
• Strong mentorship, with empathic listening skills and a positive collaborative attitude in guiding team members.
