Job Description: 

Job Summary

The Director – Digital Assets Product (Cash Operations) is accountable for the end to end product ownership, governance, and operational integration of Digital Asset propositions supporting Cash Management, including tokenised deposits, stablecoin enabled collections and payouts, and DLT based cash use cases.
The role ensures that Digital Asset products are commercially viable, operationally robust, regulator ready, and scalable to BAU, with a strong focus on Cash Operations readiness, control design, and risk governance. Bengaluru serves as the primary product and regulatory hub, with responsibility extending across priority markets including Hong Kong and other international corridors.

Key Responsibilities

Product Ownership & Delivery
•    Own the end to end Digital Asset product lifecycle for Cash Management Operations, from concept and approval through launch, scaling, and BAU adoption.
•    Act as the single point of accountability for product design decisions impacting Cash Operations, ensuring alignment between product intent, operational feasibility, and regulatory expectations.
•    Prepare and present senior level product papers (ExCo, governance forums) articulating value proposition, risks, controls, and delivery milestones.

 

Operational Impact & Adoption
•    Partner with Operations leads to embed digital asset products’ solutions into business processes (e.g. exception management, 
     payments investigation, sanctions screening, document verification, reconciliations).
•    Design and embed Cash Operations ready operating models for Digital Asset products
•    Lead the transition from project delivery to BAU, ensuring:
•    Documented operating procedures and control frameworks
•    Training and readiness of Cash Operations teams
•    Clear ownership and escalation models post go live
•    Partner closely with Cash Operations, and Technology to ensure platform features are usable, controlled, and auditable.
•    Lead change-management and communication plans to ensure user acceptance and process integration.

Governance, Risk & Compliance
•    Lead product governance for Digital Assets
•    Represent in Digital Risk Committees, Cash NFRC, and other approval forums, ensuring risks are identified, assessed, and mitigated appropriately.
•    Own regulatory alignment for Digital Asset cash products, including MAS expectations, cross border regulatory considerations, 
     and emerging frameworks such as Crypto Asset Reporting Framework (CARF).
•    Ensure country level compliance is aligned with group product standards while accommodating local regulatory requirements.

 

Technology, Platform & Change governance
•    Act as the product counterpart to DLT and Digital Asset technology teams, ensuring:
•    Functional requirements reflect Cash Operations and control needs
•    Architecture, security, and third party risk reviews are completed
•    Change governance and release management standards are met
•    Sponsor controlled change delivery, balancing agile enhancements with operational stability and regulatory expectations.
•    Oversee governance of external partners (e.g., VASPs, stablecoin issuers, DLT providers) from a product, operational, and risk perspective.

Client Enablement & Market Execution
•    Partner with Coverage, Sales, and Client Management teams to ensure Digital Asset Cash propositions are client ready, with clear onboarding, documentation, and servicing models.
•    Support key client discussions where Digital Asset use cases introduce material operational, legal, or regulatory considerations.
•    Ensure a consistent client experience across markets while managing jurisdictional differences.

 

Programme Leadership & Stakeholder Management
•    Provide senior leadership across multi country Digital Asset programmes, coordinating Product, Operations, Technology, Risk, Legal, Compliance, and Finance stakeholders.
•    Chair or sponsor cross functional working groups, with clear terms of reference, deliverables, and accountability.
•    Manage product level dependencies, risks, and resourcing considerations across concurrent initiatives


Core Competencies
Essential
•    Significant experience in Transaction Banking / Cash Management product roles, with exposure to complex, regulated products.
•    Strong understanding of operations, controls, and risk governance within a global banking environment.
•    Experience with Digital Assets, DLT, tokenisation, or stablecoin related propositions.
•    Proven ability to lead cross functional, multi country initiatives involving Product, Ops, Technology, and Risk.
•    Experience engaging with regulators and senior governance forums.
•    Excellent stakeholder management and executive level communication skills.

Desirable
•    Exposure to MAS or other APAC regulatory environments.
•    Background in product launch, operating model design, or BAU transition for new capabilities.

Qualifications

Education & Professional Qualifications
•    Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Banking, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline; postgraduate qualification preferred.
•    Professional qualifications in banking, finance, risk, or technology (e.g., CFA, FRM, CA, MBA, or equivalent) are desirable.
•    Formal training or certification in Digital Assets, blockchain, or distributed ledger technology is strongly preferred, aligned to Group Digital Assets education standards.

 

Experience Requirements
Essential Experience
•    12+ years of experience within a global financial institution, with a strong background in Transaction Banking, Cash Management, Payments, or Liquidity products.
•    Proven experience in end to end product ownership, including product approval, launch, governance, and BAU transition in a regulated environment.
•    Demonstrated expertise in operations led product design, with a clear understanding of:
•    Cash Operations workflows
•    Control frameworks (maker–checker, audit logging, exception handling)
•    Operational risk and regulatory expectations
•    Strong experience working with Risk, Compliance, Legal, Finance, and Technology teams to deliver complex products safely and at scale.

 

Digital Assets & Technology Exposure (Strongly Preferred)
•    Practical exposure to Digital Assets, tokenisation, stablecoins, or DLT enabled financial products, either through product, operations, or programme leadership roles.
•    Working knowledge of:
•    Tokenised deposits and digital representations of cash
•    Public vs private blockchain models
•    Smart contracts and wallet based transaction flows
•    Experience partnering with DLT / Digital Asset platform teams and external vendors (e.g., infrastructure providers, VASPs), with an understanding of third party risk management.
