JOB SUMMARY

  • A highly experienced Engineering Lead with 14+ years of expertise in designing and delivering scalable, secure, and cloud-native banking applications. Specializing in Java, API development, microservices, cloud (AWS/Azure), DevOps, security, and stakeholder management, with deep domain knowledge in core banking, payments, onboarding, sales and marketing.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Technical Leadership & Solution Design
•    Architect and develop highly available, secure, and scalable banking applications across mobile, frontend, and backend platforms.
•    Define and enforce architectural standards for API-first, microservices-based systems.
•    Provide technical leadership in Java, API security, cloud infrastructure, and modern banking technology stacks.
•    Lead performance optimization and security hardening efforts, ensuring compliance with industry standards (OWASP, PCI-DSS, ISO 27001).
•    Drive adoption of DevSecOps, Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), and CI/CD best practices.

2. Cloud & DevOps Strategy
•    Architect and deploy cloud-native solutions on AWS and Azure, leveraging serverless, Kubernetes, and containerized applications.
•    Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM templates.
•    Define observability, monitoring, and logging strategies using ELK, Prometheus, and Grafana.
•    Optimize CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments, security scans, and compliance enforcement.

3. Full-Stack Engineering Excellence
•    Design and develop secure, high-performance APIs and backend services in Java/Spring Boot.
•    Collaborate with mobile (iOS/Android) and frontend (React/Angular) teams for seamless integration.
•    Implement API Gateway strategies, authentication, and encryption protocols (OAuth, JWT, mTLS).
•    Ensure best practices in data security, encryption, and access control.

4. Banking & Financial Domain Expertise
•    Deep understanding of core banking systems, payments, digital banking, onboarding, and sales and marketing.
•    Experience with payment gateways, open banking APIs, and real-time transaction processing.
•    Collaborate with compliance and risk teams to ensure regulatory adherence (e.g., MAS, FCA, GDPR).
•    Implement fraud detection, anti-money laundering (AML), and financial crime prevention strategies.

5. Stakeholder & Cross-Team Collaboration
•    Work closely with business stakeholders, architects, and product owners to align technical solutions with business goals.
•    Collaborate with security, risk, and compliance teams to meet regulatory requirements.
•    Provide guidance and mentorship to developers while driving engineering excellence across teams.

6. Agile & Continuous Improvement
•    Champion Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) for iterative development and faster delivery.
•    Lead technical proof-of-concepts (PoCs) and drive innovation with AI/ML, automation, and FinTech integrations.
•    Advocate for continuous learning, emerging technology adoption, and engineering best practices.
