Title: FMO Data Risk and Control Senior Manager

Job Summary
- The senior operational risk manager role is to support the financial markets operational risk team, in giving independent oversight of functional teams globally. The focus of this role is to oversee data operations globally across all jurisdictions, ensuring that risks are raised, escalated and monitored to closure. They should be able to attend multiple meetings to explain the issues in plain language to ensure stakeholders have a clear understanding of the risks we run.
- Being based in FMO India, the role also requires giving support to the local FMO R&C team and also the E&A team in managing risk across all products traded in the region (i.e. derivatives, FXMM, securities etc).
Key Responsibilities
Strategy:
- Support in developing risk conduct across financial markets, focus on bringing functional teams up to industry standards to ensure team meets policy.
Business:
- Oversight and ownership from a risk perspective of all open risks related to data operations, this should include all jurisdictions where regulations may differ.
People & Talent:
- Lead by example in promoting risk culture throughout the bank and emphasis on timely escalation per policy
- Share experience with the wider team to develop knowledge across the team, mentor more junior staff to help them build their knowledge and as such help career growth
Risk Management:
- Work closely with the data operations team to ensure their risk framework efficiently matches the current risks
- Ensure all risks are correctly logged in a timely manner into the bank’s risk monitoring system
- All risk incidents are shared across all stakeholders as per policy
- Work with operation teams, group risk and compliance if there are any incidents that need to be reported to a regulator – making sure that key stakeholders are kept informed of developments
- Work with the data team on upcoming tech and reg releases to ensure that horizon risks are captured and any action places are recorded
- Prepare for audits by ensuring any concerns are fully documented and where possible resolved prior to audit
- Work with audit and be a focal point for them where needed
- Look to perform regular assurance checks to spot any unknown concerns before they become issues
Governance:
- Support local FMO R&C team and E&A region in monitoring risk across all teams in their CST/KCI/KRI’s, incidents, reconciliations etc
- Support local FMO R&C team and E&A region in attending service review meetings and regional risk meetings with local stakeholders
Regulatory & Business Conduct:
- Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.
- Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
- Lead the team out in the Bank’s Conduct Principles
- Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.
- Serve as a Director of the Board
- Exercise authorities delegated by the Board of Directors and act in accordance with Articles of Association

Qualifications
- Over 10 years of relevant banking experience
- Deep knowledge in collateral management
- Strong background in risk management and controls
- Knowledge of wider Financial Markets business
- Ability to write complex risk papers
- Ability to perform assurance reviews and write up findings to present to higher management
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
