Title: Head T&O & Functions Finance Performance Operations

Job Summary
• This is a senior leadership role responsible for driving end-to-end cost performance management across Technology, Operations, and Group functions (Strategy and Talent, GCFO, Risk , CFCR, IA , Legal and Directorate). The role leads the business performance delivery teams based in the GBS hubs locations delivering core finance processes across planning, forecasting, reporting and analytics.
• While the role supports multiple enabling functions, a key focus is on leading the Technology Finance and FP&A agenda, ensuring the team delivers robust commercial support and forward-looking insight for a complex and rapidly evolving portfolio.
• This role is part of the Bank’s enterprise Cost Organisation and contributes directly to the Fit for Growth transformation , enabling scalable , standardised and insight led cost management practises for T&O and Functions.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy
• Shape and execute the Finance Operations strategy for T&O and Functions, aligned to the Bank’s enterprise cost management vision
• Lead the transformative finance support agenda for Technology
• Act as a thought partner to CFOs in identifying structural cost opportunities across domains.
• Influence the evolution of the Technology finance operating model – working to reposition the business performance team as a true global capability centre for FPA. With strong ownership of planning, analytics, and commercial support
• Challenge legacy role boundaries and driving operating model clarity for greater ownership of process and outcomes within T&O and Functions finance operations unit
Business
• Build effective partnership and network with Business finance (CIB and WRB) for alignment on process and outcomes which intersects with segment/product financials
• Enable effective engagement models that improve the upstream visibility of business decisions ( eg. Tech demand, service consumption, investment) that influences T&O and Functions cost profiles.
• Partner with Group FP&A and Business finance to connect cost outcomes to business strategy.
• Institutionalise delivery of core performance outputs for Group FP&A, Business Finance, and Corporate Plan Processes, ensuring business narratives are reflected in cost outcomes and vice versa
Processes
• Own delivery of timely, accurate and standardised cost reporting and analytics for supported areas
• Own delivery of monthly rolling cost forecast process across all domains ( Technology, Operations, Functions
• Partner with Tech CFO and T&O Central FP&A to influence recharge walks which are explainable on outcomes and optimized as a process for frequencies
• Own global recharge process for Technology, Operations and Property
• Drive ongoing optimisation of cost processes especially ensuring that they are designed to drive standardised and consistent outcomes across all entities.
• Drive consistency, standardisation, and calendar discipline across FP&A cycles, ensuring alignment with Group FP&A, Business finance and strategic planning timelines
• Adopt and land cost simplification outcomes into the run state of finance operations (eg. adoption of standard cost and HC reporting, simplified group recharge process and cost performance framework)
• Integrate FP&A delivery to CFO’s with the transversal cost MI and forecast offering, driving continuous centralisation, standardisation and efficiencies of finance processes.
• Proactively address process fragmentations and role duplications by partnering with onshore teams to streamline workflows, consolidate insights delivery, and bring critical partnering activities into the business performance operations footprint.
People & Talent
• Lead and develop the business performance Operations team of 100+ finance professionals across the two hub locations of Chennai and Bangalore
• Foster a culture of high performance, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Strengthen team capabilities in areas such as performance management, FP&A analytics, story telling and insights.
• Lead and drive the skill first agenda to realise our collective ambition of becoming a skill based organisation.
• Role model inclusive, agile leadership and actively support succession planning and mobility within the broader cost organisation.
• Employ, engage and retain high quality people, with succession planning for critical roles.
Risk Management
• Responsible for identifying, assessing, monitoring, controlling and mitigating risks to the Group relevant to cost reporting, planning and control processes.
• Ensure compliance of UK ACG requirements across all impacted cost processes

Qualifications
• 18 + years of experience in Financial Planning & Analysis, Business Finance, or Cost Management within banking or financial services
• Relevant tertiary qualification in finance or accounting ( e.g. CA, CPA , ACCA, CFA or MBA in Finance) is required
• Strong domain expertise in Technology Finance – including understanding of infrastructure, investment governance, run vs change cost dynamics and Technology transformation impact on cost structures.
• Proven experience leading global finance teams and delivering high-impact planning, forecasting, and reporting outcomes at scale.
• Proven ability to lead the full FP&A cycle – including planning, budgeting, forecasting , performance reviews and insights ( informed internally and with external benchmarks)
• Demonstrated ability to partner with CFOs and Business finance teams, influencing cost decisions and aligning financial outcomes with strategic priorities.
• A track record for transforming operating models – driving clarity of roles, process simplifications, and right shoring.
• High comfort with data, digital tools, and platforms with a mindset towards automation and forward looking analytics
• Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and influencing skills – with the confidence to challenge legacy thinking and drive change.
