Job Summary

As the Lead, Delivery Practice, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring consistent and effective delivery practices across all Hives, Squads, and Programs within the organization. You will be responsible for establishing and maintaining minimum standard practices, as well as enabling Delivery Coaches, Squad Leads, and Product Owners to implement these practices effectively. This role requires a balance of strategic thinking, business acumen, process optimization, people management, and risk management skills to drive continuous improvement in the delivery function.

In this role, you will collaborate with Delivery Coaches to plan and implement strategic initiatives in various Domains, improving change delivery across Corporate and Institutional Banking, Wealth and Retail Banking, Group Functions, and Support.

You are successful in this role when you meet the below key performance indicators:
Adoption rate of standard practices among Hives, Squads, and Programs
Proficiency of Delivery Coaches, Squad Leads, and Product Owners in applying standard practices
Reduction in delivery risks and issues through proactive monitoring and data-driven interventions

To do this, you must have 
(1) expertise in analysing data and generating actionable insights on product delivery processes and constraints.
(2) proven track record of engaging with senior stakeholders to gain support and drive change,
(3) proficiency in co-creating and implementing change initiatives through influence and collaboration. 
(4) courage to call out gaps in our ways of working and constraints to our Flow of Work i.e. “canary in the coalmine”, and 
(5) bias for action to take ownership and accountability of execution

Key Responsibilities

Strategy

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and evolve the strategic direction for delivery practices.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in agile delivery to inform strategic decisions.
  • Drive alignment of transformation agenda with the Bank’s broader strategic goals
  • Drive the activation of Group / Business / Function change and transformation programs across the Domains with the Delivery Coaches

Business

  • Establish strong relationships with business partners, CIOs, and other stakeholders to understand their delivery needs and priorities, secure buy-in and mobilize support for improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with business partners to align delivery practices with overall business objectives.
  • Drive the refinement, prioritisation, and execution planning of transformation roadmap with Group Delivery Excellence using insights and business storytelling based on data.

Processes

  • Define, document, and implement minimum standard practices for agile delivery across Hives, Squads, and Programs.
  • Monitor adherence to standard practices, analyse performance data, and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain guidelines, playbooks, and templates to support consistent delivery practices.
  • Co-create and implement transformative initiatives to enhance the Bank's delivery excellence, leveraging your expertise in influencing, facilitating collaborative workshops, and bringing experts together
  • Ensure that all transformed processes adhere to regulatory requirements, internal governance frameworks and industry best practices while minimising operational risks

People & Talent

  • Design and deliver training and workshops to educate Delivery Coaches, Squad Leads, and Product Owners on standard practices.
  • Provide ongoing support, coaching, and mentorship to Delivery Coaches, Squad Leads, and Product Owners in implementing and refining standard practices.
  • Create and manage a community of practice for Delivery Coaches, Squad Leads, and Product Owners to share knowledge and experiences.

Risk Management

  • Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate potential risks associated with delivery practices and processes.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, policies, and procedures related to delivery practices.
  • Develop and maintain contingency plans to address unforeseen issues that may arise during the delivery process.

Governance

  • Speak up and proactively flag gaps and deviations to the key principles, Change Delivery Standards and Change Delivery Model as a Product Delivery Organization, and steer execution of improvement plans to address them.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Business Administration, Engineering, Computer Science)
  • Relevant certifications in Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum Master, Product Owner, Agile Coach)
  • 5+ years of experience in leading and managing agile delivery teams in the banking or financial services industry
  • Strong understanding of agile delivery methodologies, tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps), and practices
  • Proven track record in driving process improvement and change management initiatives
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills
