Job Summary

  • This role is as a Delivery Manager on S2B API, then Bank’s API platform for commercial clients. The role is a mix of delivery, being responsible for driving the delivery of two development squads in India, and technical lead. Both aspects of the role require strong leadership.

 

The role requires:

 

  • Bachelor of Computer Science or related field, or exceptional relevant experience.
  • Precise and critical thinker with attention to detail.
  • Fast learner.
  • Open & trustworthy communication skills.
  • Courageous to critique and suggest improvements.
  • Team-based ethics but independent thinker.
  • Outstanding development skills in Core Java.
  • Experience with Spring framework/Spring Boot.
  • Experience with Spring Boot based Micro-services beneficial.
  • Strong experience on service-oriented architecture using RESTful services. 
  • Experience on middleware technology e.g. Kafka, JMS.
  • Experience on testing automation, Cucumber.
  • Agile practices (Scrum, TDD, BDD) a must.
  • Continuous Integration evangelist.
  • Experience on Source code version control systems (GIT).

 

Strategy

 

  • Deliver solutions aligned to the Bank’s Fit For Growth programme.

 

Business

 

  • Design, development and testing of software and software components adhering to high level of TDD and BDD disciplines.
  • Collaborate with the other technology teams, business analysts and business stakeholders across CIB businesses.
  • Provide technical direction and leadership for India-based development squads
  • Manage the agile backlog of development work for multiple squads, agreeing deliverables with stakeholders and ensuring that milestones are met.

  • Follow the Bank’s internal software delivery practices, ensuring all security controls are strictly adhered to

 

People & Talent

 

  • Mentor and guide less experienced developers on the team
  • Coach the development squads to upskill the developers, hiring where necessary

Risk Management

 

  • Manage delivery risk, escalate blockers and proactively solve delivery challenges to meet critical deadlines.

 

Governance

 

  • Contribute to project governance and work intake forums
  • Ensure compliance to internal API Governance standards

  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct. 
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank.
