Job Summary
Looking for a senior Java software engineer to work across financial applications within SCB. These applications are used by several hundred operators across the Investment Bank..
Ensure production stability with near-zero unscheduled outages. Proactively detect and fix potential failures. Define best practices, standardize processes, and promote continuous improvement across platforms.
Key Responsibilities
• Advice future technology capabilities and architecture design considering business objectives, technology strategy, trends and regulatory requirements
• Awareness and understanding of the Group’s business strategy and model appropriate to the role.

• Awareness and understanding of the wider business, economic and market environment in which the Group operates.
• Understand and Recommend business flows and translate them to API Ecosystem
Processes
• Responsible for executing and supervising microservices development to facilitate business capabilities and orchestrate to achieve business outcomes
People & Talent
• Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values. Set appropriate tone and expectations from their team and work in collaboration with risk and control partners.
• Ensure the provision of ongoing training and development of people, and ensure that holders of all critical functions are suitably skilled and qualified for their roles ensuring that they have effective supervision in place to mitigate any risks.
Risk Management
• The ability to interpret the Portfolio Key Risks, identify key issues based on this information and put in place appropriate controls and measure
Governance
• Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework, in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role

Other Responsibilities
· Develop interfaces and integrate with upstream/downstream.
· To perform code review and mentor junior developers.
· As technical expert to support Production issue.
· Work with QA team to support SIT/UAT/PT test.
· Monitoring, Optimizing and Capacity Planning for the application.
· Prepare documentation as required to follow SCB rules.
· Meet the tight project delivery timelines
· Able to solve complex requirements and issues, and work with Vendor to troubleshooting.
· Look for process improvements at all the stages of the project
Skills and Experience
· 9+ year Java/Jave EE application software development.
· 5+ year Reactjs, Vuejs, typescript, javascript software development.
· Middleware experience, familiar with ActiveMQ,Kafka,RabbitMQ, JMS and other interfaces.
· Solid Linux shell script coding capability to automatic BAU tasks to increase efficiency.
· Software development full life cycle experience on Linux.
· Strong experience of cloud, AWS, k8s,Docker,Podman etc.
· Familiar and experience with ELK, Hadoop.
· 3+ years working experience with Oracle DB.
· Strong troubleshooting skills.
· Good English communication skills, be able to manage communication/relationship with 3rd party vendors, and
upstream App owners and other stakeholders.
· Prior exposure to work on projects in the Banking & Financial Services Vertical is preferred
· Agile experience is added advantage
· Able to work under pressure and demonstrate initiative, enthusiasm and rapid learning capability, and detail
oriented

EDUCATION: Bachelor in IT or equivalent
