Job Summary
A business analyst is required to lead and execute analysis streams across the Custody & Clearing domain for SCB Securities Services Technology. The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate an excellent understanding of Securities & FX custody, clearing and settlement processes, and have a proven track record in leading and performing business analysis, especially in Corporate Actions domain. The candidate should also have a good understanding of related technology applications which service the domain in addition to operational processes.
Key Responsibilities
Business
• A business analyst is required to lead and execute analysis streams across the Custody & Clearing domain for SCB Securities Services Technology. The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate an excellent understanding of Securities & FX custody, clearing and settlement processes, and have a proven track record in leading and performing business analysis, especially in Corporate Actions domain. The candidate should also have a good understanding of related technology applications which service the domain in addition to operational processes.
Processes
• Undertake requirements solicitation from stakeholders/end users and turn into well-formed formal requirements
• Perform AS-IS/TO-BE process mapping
• Undertake data analysis as required in order to validate/challenge and refine requirements
• Partner with the wider technology team to ensure solution definition meets requirements and is delivered with accuracy and quality
• Stakeholder management across Sales, Product Management, Technology and Operations
• Adherence to standards mandated by SCB for project analysis and delivery
• Introduce industry best practices, tools, techniques, processes and methodologies which bring clear benefit
• Manage keys risks and issues as they arise with timely escalation when required
People & Talent
• Ensure to perform as a team player; also groom juniors as the role matures
Risk Management
• Ensure the BA adheres to the risk management practices for the unit and bank.
Governance
• Adhere to the Governance structure expected by the unit and bank
Regulatory & Business Conduct
• Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.
• Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
• Lead the FSS Tech team to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank’s Conduct Principles
• Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

Skills and Experience
• Excellent knowledge of custody, settlements and clearing processes, both technology applications and operational processes
• Minimum 5 years BA experience in similar domain/environment, ideally with experience of agile/scrum
• Working knowledge of TCS BaNCS Custody product is desirable, across Settlements & Corporate Actions. (Corporate Actions experience would be given importance)
• Experience of strategic change, working with business and technology stakeholders to define and execute operational strategy
