Title: Manager, Product Control GBS

Job Summary
• The Product Control GBS is accountable for delivery of the end-to-end product & valuation control functions in GBS and supervise different strategic initiatives for the function.
• We are seeking a dynamic and technically skilled professional to join our PC team. This role will play a pivotal part in expanding the Bank’s Product Control, developing compliant and commercially effective strategies, and supporting IFRS 9 transition initiatives. The successful candidate will work for Product Control, working closely with Technical Accounting, Macro, Traded Risk, and other key stakeholders to deliver best-in-class controllership across the Group.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy
• Manage a team covering various product categories and regions. (Asset classes: Rates / FX / FXO / Com / XVA)
• Ensure appropriate controls and reviews are maintained for Daily P&L production, Core reconciliations, Month end close and BSRS.
• Ensure the teams are performing timely lockdown of daily and monthly P&L.
Business
• Should be able to substantiate daily and monthly adjustments held in P&L and control accounts.
• Review monthly balance sheet, with substantiation and potential financial exposure.
• Review various reconciliation reports, management packs and adhoc reports.
• Review of month end Journals for accrual, provision and true up.
Processes
• Take responsibility for the quality of work submitted and ensure that the highest standards are maintained.
• Ensure adherence to SLA's, KPI's , Internal metrics & FMG wide policies.
• Identify/ manage risk and control breakdowns.
• Develop & Maintain effective and standard processes. Maintain KOP's/DI's.
• Support change project initiatives and conduct User Acceptance Testing for enhancements to current systems or migration to new system
People & Talent
• Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values
• Ensure the provision of ongoing training and development of people and ensure that holders of all critical functions are suitably skilled and qualified for their roles ensuring that they have effective supervision in place to mitigate any risks.
• Employ, engage and retain high quality people, with succession planning for critical roles.
• Responsibility to review team structure/capacity plans.
• Set and monitor job descriptions and objectives for direct reports and provide feedback and rewards in line with their performance against those responsibilities and objectives.
Risk Management
• Prepare and present complex technical hedge accounting papers under IAS 39/IFRS 9 for internal stakeholders and external auditor endorsement.
Governance
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and drive initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Regulatory & Business Conduct
• Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.

Skills and Experience
• Ability to engage and manage stakeholders in delivering objectives and outcomes
• Strong excel and data analysis skills
• Accounting knowledge and understanding of financial statements
• Financial Market and product knowledge
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field; a Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CFA) is strongly preferred.
• 4–6 years of experience in finance or accounting functions, with a strong preference for candidates with hedge accounting expertise.
• Deep technical knowledge of hedge accounting frameworks (e.g., IAS 39) and practical experience in financial instrument valuation.
• Demonstrated success in designing and executing hedge accounting strategies across multiple risk types.
• Strong analytical mindset and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to apply judgment in data-driven decisions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively influence and collaborate across business, finance, and technical teams.
• Familiarity with hedge accounting tools and financial systems (e.g., Sabre Cortex, Murex) is an advantage.
