Job Summary

The Manager is responsible for end to end working of the clearing operation activities in GBS.

This position is required for the management of key Operational activities and to support clients to deliver the right level of client service and engaging with stake holders for all clearing activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategy
Operations role on supporting Clearing business on the below areas 

•    Financial markets products (e.g. - Rates, FX)
•    Trade lifecycle management 
•    Accounting and settlements 
•    Reconciliation 
•    Understanding on Derivative Clearing  
•    Prime services 
•    Margining 
•    Collateral Management
•    Brokerage 
•    Operation Risk framework
•    Understanding the breadth and complexity of the regulatory environment across our global footprint.

Business
•    Responsible for serving as primary contact for clearing clients and internal staff for advice, enquiries, complaints and any other service issues. 
•    Deliver excellent service against agreed service standards and in line with client satisfactions criteria.  Build strong working relationships with our priority clients.
•    Work together with key internal stakeholders to solve any client issues timely with no/minimal escalation and identify opportunities to improve overall service for the clients.
•    Long lasting relationships and good rapport with premium clients for better client experience
•    Identify opportunities for service improvement based on useful metrics and demonstrate results.

Key Responsibilities

Processes
•    Primary contact person supporting clearing business across wide range of FM products in terms of providing solutions, enquiries, complaints, resolving of discrepancies and transactional errors. (highly automated, standardized, scalable)
•    Collateral Management 
•    Trade and cash flow Reconciliation and investigation. 
•    Nostro & Balance reconciliation and investigation.
•    Handling Exception  
•    Cash management/Payment & Accounting
•    Daily, weekly & Monthly Control Reporting
•    Working on MIS / Adhoc reporting 
•    Responding to email queries from various key business stakeholders. 
•    User Acceptance Testing (UAT) & User Verification Testing (UVT)
•    Be an active, vocal member of workshops, discussions and working groups.
•    Working with Operational risk and ensuring all controls are followed and risk highlighted and mitigated. 
•    Working with Product owner on new business onboarding and automation of the process.
•    Ensuring daily business activities are carried out by the team in a timely manner 
•    Ensure operating instructions are reviewed and updated, checklist signed, and all escalations done to the senior management.

People & Talent 
•    Coach team members and developing necessary skills to get the results.
•    Identify team goals and evaluate the team progress.
•    Resolve any conflicts.
•    Organise team initiatives. 

Risk Management
•    Knowledge on Operation Risk framework
•    Understanding the breadth and complexity of the regulatory environment across our global footprint.
•    Awareness in Operational Risk
•    Working with Operational risk team and ensuring all controls are followed.  
•    Any risk are highlighted and mitigated.

Governance 
•    Ensure the organisation adherence to regulatory and internal policies, managing risk and maintaining a robust risk framework.

Regulatory & Business Conduct 
•    Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct. 
•    Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
•    Lead the Clearing Operations to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank’s Conduct Principles 
•    Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

Front office, Client Service team, Ops Risk, other back office teams

Qualifications

•    Prior working experience in financial market operations and Strong product background of FX / Derivatives / Futures)
•    Prior Work experience performing reconciliations for financial market products
•    Identify and build strong, effective relationships with both the business and technology stakeholders, across global offices.
•    Ability to handle pressure and conflicting priorities
•    English language completely fluent and strong communication skills.
•    Awareness in Operational Risk 
•    Ability to work with different Microsoft tools (Excel, Word , PowerPoint)
