Job Summary
The Lead/Architect BI Development will be responsible for CCIB DCDA BI Tools Consolidation and BI Reporting projects on-premises & on-cloud with good technical knowledge on big data and Tools. Good exposure in problem solving & stakeholder management skills. This role will report into the Lead for BI Reporting and product development team in CCIB DCDA
• Hands on experience in designing and developing BI Tools like MicroStrategy and Data management tools like Dremio, Exasol, Dataiku for a minimum of 8 to 12 years
• Experienced in understanding BI Application design and development practises
• Experienced in understanding Data Management design and development practises
• Experienced in designing and implementing user access management and data security management for BI Tools and Data Management tools
• Experienced in managing BI Tools and Data Management tools upgrades and patching
• Should have expertise in at least one BI Tool or Data Management platform
• Very good verbal and written communication skills
• Hands-on experience in API testing & developing automation test script for mobile or tablet devices using Appium.
• Good understanding of Linux operating system and hands on work experience in Linux operating system is desirable
• Ability to identify new testing techniques and tools.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Excellent team player and exhibit a positive attitude

Key Responsibilities
Strategy
• The ideal candidate is highly organized, action-oriented, hands on and accomplished in the development and deployment of BI tools solutions using multiple BI tools. Candidate must have a result-oriented approach towards problem solving. Candidate must be hands on experience with, application integration and use of BI and Data processing tools in a complex environment with Data Security, User Access Managed, Authorization and tightly controlled environment which deploys modern authentication mechanisms used in large organizations. Candidates should have a basic understanding of the networking and application deployment criteria associated with deployment of web based and mobile applications. Candidate should be flexible to work on various areas in BI Tools/ Data Management Platforms within BICOE remit on Premises & on Cloud stack.
Business
Resiliency
• Lead/part of SRE team to enhance application and infrastructure resiliency of service through self-healing and automated failovers - target a 99.9% up-time to customers.
• Oversee the planned/unplanned disruption of production infrastructure to ensure accountability for building resilient, always-on systems.
• Build resilience into the application so underlying system failures are handled gracefully and do not impact end users. Influence design/development teams to always be thinking of the rainy-day scenarios.
Efficiency
• Identify opportunities to eliminate all manual and repeatable activities (toil) via tooling and automation
• Reduce the number of repeat incidents by permanently fixing the underlying root cause of issues
Capacity Planning
• Develop automated predictive analysis of future capacity needs and drive the proactive upgrade of service capacity well in advance
• Using Standard Chartered’ s SDI (Software Defined Infrastructure) develop auto-scaling to deliver robust resilience to fluctuations in critical service demand
• Continuously monitor service demand / capacity for any discrepancies or spikes
Processes
Availability/Reliability
• Take responsibility for meeting SLA/XLA expectations around the operability and reliability of our critical user service journeys, where our customers expect a 24x7 digital service offering. Examples of “always on” techniques to be used include caching, circuit breakers, dark and canary releases, store and service patterns and alternate user experience flows.
• Lead, own, manage, monitor and optimize the reliability and health of all environments
• Design, code, implement break fixes to improve service availability based on outcomes from thematic reviews
Latency & Performance
• Drive conversation around development velocity using SLIs/SLOs data to ensure development velocity vs. service reliability is optimized in partnership with Product Teams
• Iteratively review SLI/SLO/Error Budget policy to ensure the quantitative indicators of customer experience are accurate
• Where an increased focus on reliability is required influence senior stakeholders to ensure resourcing / effort is made available
Governance
• Responsible for assessing the effectiveness of the governance, oversight and controls and, if necessary, oversee changes in these areas
• Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework, in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role.

Our Ideal Candidate
• Strong Technical skills Designing and Developing complex integrated applications using MicroStrategy
• Good exposure to migration from MSTR to Tableau or working with data accelerations tools like Dremio/Exasol or Data processing tools like DataIku
• Good knowledge on features / capabilities in MSTR.
• Serve validate application design and best practises in implementation of BI Tools development. Work with Tools Technical support to resolve issues requiring vendor assistance.
• Govern the BI environment and continuously optimize the environment via governing settings, security settings, and other mechanisms.
• Upgrade of tools to latest version for maximum business impact
