Job Summary
Standard Chartered’s Financial Markets Supervision & Controls team has defined an exciting strategy and aggressive multi-year product roadmap. The system development team is a specialized team of individuals hired to deliver on front-to-back strategic Front Office supervision and control initiatives for the FM business but potentially other Corporate Institutional Bank (CIB) product segments as well. The successful candidate will play a leading role in the implementation of a highly visible strategic programme with the primary responsibilities around delivery of the Supervision Workbench. The successful candidate will perform in-depth analysis around key business and operational problems, and opportunity areas, to determine strategic proposals / solutions – focusing on long term efficiency, risk reduction and regulatory compliance. This will also involve establishing the business benefit to CIB from the delivery of internal/external strategic change and define the metrics to appropriately measure success. The candidate will work closely with front office developers, Business Heads and COO, controls functions (Finance, Risk, Ops), Legal and Compliance and Operational Risk.
Key Responsibilities
· Understand business requirements and translate into quality technology solutions · Pro-actively engage, manage and build strong relationships with both business and technology stakeholders · Take ownership of technology deliveries from high level requirement through development, testing and deployment · Translate solutions into detailed, unambiguous, business and functional requirements · Provide on-going support to the technology teams as required e.g. authoring / reviewing test cases, closing out open issues / questions, managing change request process etc. · Identify risks and issues early, plan mitigating steps and communicate these to stakeholders in a timely manner · Work closely with business sponsors, project and programme managers to ensure all stakeholders are fully engaged and expectations managed · Delivery focused, committing to specific tasks and ensuring these and the overall projects deadlines are met
Skills and Experience
- At least 8+ years of hands on experience
- working in a Bank or Financial Institution or in Banking Technology Expert
- Experience and understanding of FrontOffice Trading and Pricing is a must
- Experience in Trade Lifecycle, Front-to-Back trade flow
- Experience of FM and other CIB products, both flow, OTC & Derivatives
- Experience in Front Office Risk Systems Expert Ability and experience to take ownership
Qualifications
Degree in Business Administration or Finance Masters degree preferred Candidates with Finance certifications such as CFA, FRM, PRM will be preferred.
