JOB SUMMARY
The ESG Product Owner drives transformation for Business, Operations and Risk functions, constantly striving to reduce time-to-market, deliver better experiences and streamline the ESG risk assessment processes.
The ESG Product Owner is an empowered decision-maker who leads a cross-functional team called Squad and is responsible for maximizing the business value of the work of the Squad.
The individual owns and manages a product backlog and is ultimately accountable for the successful delivery of the ESG digital initiatives. The individual works in a fast-paced environment with high degrees of ambiguity, get excited by solving complex problems and is adept at getting things done.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy
The ESG transformation initiative aims to harness cutting-edge technology to drive operational efficiency, data transparency, and ESG decision-making across our footprint to foster SCB’s leadership in sustainable finance.
Business
• Chair Working Groups to create and maintain effective engagement with relevant stakeholders across business, operations, risk to deliver the ESG transformation agenda
• Decompose book of work into key milestones or epics, features and user stories
• Manage stakeholders, providing demos and training as needed for seamless solution rollout.
• Collect user feedback and actively contribute to use case prioritization.
Processes
• Manage relationships and synchronize with the Hive Lead, Chapter Leads and other Product Owners responsible for related ESG products to align on roadmaps, priorities and dependencies
• Work closely with business analysts, CXID and technology teams to create the product features
• Participate in planning of the Squad's sprint to reaffirm priorities and clarify the requirements
• Collaborate with Squad Lead to define delivery plan, and monitor it regularly
• Identify, assess, monitor, control and mitigate impediments to the ESG projects; effectively and collaboratively resolving them
• Define solution intent and engage with Solution Architect to review Conceptual design, ensuring it addresses the problem statements
People & Talent
• Lead cross-functional teams in the evaluation and delivery of ESG technology use cases.
• Collaborate closely with Technology, Operations, and relevant business/product stakeholders to secure and align internal resources.
• Effectively manage internal and external partner timelines for seamless build and integration.
• Provide input into squad members evaluation, performance review and feedbacks
Risk Management
• Assess the initiative delivery risk against the Group Risk Assessment Matrix (“GRAM”), consulting with the SMEs, Process Owners and impacted Risk Framework Owners. Engage Operational Risk to review the Delivery Risk Assessment and obtain approval before the initiative moves into execution.
• Change Impact Assessment: identify the impacted processes from the Changes by engaging with relevant Business / Function representatives, SMEs, Process Owners, Risk Framework Owners and Operational Risk Officers. Work closely with Change Managers to ensure that a mitigation plan is developed for each delivery risk identified.
Governance
• Working with Change Management team, Process Owners and Risk Owners to ensure that deliveries/releases have attained the necessary approvals/sign offs prior to implementation.
• Ensure project management/collaboration tools like Clarity and ADO are up to date including Project static data, status updates including RAG status, key milestones’ attestation and completion, risks/ dependencies/issues, are tracked and reported to the respective forums e.g. RFs and QPRs.
