Job Summary

The User Experience (UX) Director will be responsible for leading user-centred design for Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC). In this capacity, the role combines a deep understanding of UX design principles with strong technical implementation skills to create intuitive, accessible and visually compelling user interfaces across multiple GRC platforms.

The role holder will act as contact point for UX related matters, evaluating product design concepts and exploring new Bank technologies to advance the user centric design agenda. 

RESPONSIBILITIES
-    Collaborate with designers and key stakeholders to co-create seamless, accessible, and intuitive user experiences, ensuring technical feasibility and performance optimization. 
-    Translate wireframes, mock-ups and prototypes into functional and detailed user stories and technical specification that translate to a high degree of fidelity to the intended design. 
-    Manage the technical challenges of solutioning and defining the path to integrate multiple backend platforms into a target state single interface with the end users. 
-    Lead working sessions with business, design, and technology teams to define and refine integration paths across multiple backend systems into cohesive front-end experiences.
-    Conduct technical reviews of UX designs and identify potential implementation challenges or improvements from a business feasibility and risk compliance lens. 
-    Stay current with emerging UX technologies within the Bank, analyse for end-user interaction patterns and accessibility standards. 
-    Participate in end-to-end product delivery—supporting QA validation, UAT, and post-release enhancements, aligning to business value or ROI
-    Provide an active role in mitigating impediments impacting successful team completion of Release/Sprint Goals
Strategy
-    Understand the GRC strategic roadmap to ensure all UX and business analysis work is aligned to long-term objectives.
-    Confidently challenge any work that deviates from agreed strategic priorities or fails to address user or control needs. 

Business
-    Develop a working knowledge of the Bank’s business models, product offerings, and geographical footprint to tailor solutions that are contextually relevant. Ensure proposed solutions enhance, rather than hinder, risk management capabilities across different regions and business lines. 

Processes
Leverage deep familiarity with GRC and non-financial risk processes to evaluate the downstream impact of system changes. Partner with process owners to ensure technology solutions complement operational workflows and risk controls. 

People & Talent
Contribute to a collaborative and psychologically safe working environment across cross-functional teams. Act as a mentor and knowledge resource for junior analysts and designers when necessary. 

Risk Management
Understand the technology risk implications of solution design, including delivery risks, change control weaknesses, and impact on regulatory observations. Actively participate in risk assessments for proposed UX/system changes such as S-BIA assessments, etc..

Governance
Ensure all requirements and solutions comply with Bank-wide technology, data, and UX design policies and standards. Maintain traceability of design decisions to relevant standards and audit requirements.

Qualifications

-    Proven experience in front-end development with a focus on user experience. 
-    Strong grasp of UX design principles, accessibility standards, and responsive design. 
-    Experience working with Bank design tools, and version control systems. 
-    Ability to collaborate in cross-functional teams and communicate design/technical trade-offs clearly. 
-    Previous working experience as a BA/PO on process change initiatives
-    Bachelor’s degree
-    In-depth knowledge of Agile process and principles 
-    Good communication, presentation and leadership skills
-    Excellent organizational and time management skills
-    Strong stakeholder management skills
-    Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills
