Chartered Accountant Internship

Start your Chartered Accountant career with hands-on experience in financial reporting, analytics and automation, working on real business challenges within a global bank.

You’ll join the Standard Chartered Modelling and Analytics Centre (SCMAC), a wholly owned Standard Chartered entity, delivering advanced analytics and data-driven insights to businesses across the globe.

We combine deep financial expertise with cutting-edge analytics to support decision-making, drive performance, and build sustainable growth across the Bank. 

About the programme

Our 12-month Chartered Accountant Industrial Training Programme gives you hands-on experience in a global banking environment, working on real business challenges from day one.


You’ll build core technical skills across financial reporting, analytics, and automation, while gaining exposure to how a leading international bank operates. 

 

Throughout the programme, you’ll:

  • Work on live projects with real business impact
  • Develop in-demand skill across finance, data and automation
  • Receive structured mentorship and on-the-job learning
  • Build strong networks across teams and functions

Strong performance may lead to a full-time opportunity as a Business Analyst on completion of the programme.
 

What you will be doing

You’ll contribute to core finance and reporting processes while helping drive efficiency through automation and data-led insights.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver monthly reporting and management insights, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and clear commentary for stakeholders
  • Build and enhance dashboards (Power BI) to track financial performance and KPIs
  • Develop automation solutions (Excel VBA) to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort
  • Support direct tax activities, including computations, reconciliations, and coordination with advisors
  • Assist with indirect tax (GST) compliance, filings, and audit support
  • Contribute to statutory audit processes, including reconciliations and documentation
  • Support month-end and quarter-end close activities (journals, accruals, reviews)
  • Document processes and support continuous improvement of finance workflows.

What we’re looking for

  • Strong academic track record with a focus on analytical and quantitative work
  • Prior articleship experience in audit, accounting, or financial reporting preferred
  • Experience with Power BI (dashboarding, basic DAX, data modelling)
  • Advanced Excel skills (VBA, pivot tables, power query)
  • Exposure to SAT S/4HANA or similar systems is an advantage
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving mindset

Eligibility 

  • CA Intermediate (both groups cleared) — registered with ICAI and eligible for Industrial Training
  • Currently pursuing CA Final
  • Available for a full-time 12-month industrial training engagement.
