Job Summary
This role leads Technology & Operations Supply Chain Management Technology team. This team is responsible for delivering technology solutions to the Global Supply Chain management business function. The responsibility covers the management and delivery of a number of key projects that are being run to transform the way the Supply Chain business functions with significant committed benefits resulting from the technology and process redesign being delivered as part of this programme of work.
The team is made up of both internal and external vendor staff whose activities all fall under the responsibility of this role.
The role requires extensive knowledge of both SCM technology products and SCM business processes and will entail significant work in conjunction with both project and category teams in the SCM team.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy
- Awareness and understanding of the Group’s business strategy and model appropriate to the role.
- Work with your key stakeholders in SCM to align the business and technical strategy and roadmap.
- Implement the T&O SCM technology roadmap and strategy.
- Deliver the key objective results as laid out by the respective QPR’s
- Deliver the technology to support the realisable benefits for the SCM Fit For Growth projects.
- Enable the business to deliver the committed value across their FFG projects
Business
- Awareness and understanding of the wider business, economic and market environment in which the group operates.
- A market proven understanding of both SCM technology and SCM business processes with significant exposure and understanding of the SAP supply chain management suite of applications (Ariba & Concur).
- A strong understanding of Financial systems and how they integrate with supply chain management systems, preferably with knowledge of SAP S4 Hana and associated platforms
- Implement service improvement programmes to reduce avoidable incidents, drive down service recovery times, automate manual processes, and generally improve the stability of applications.
- Manage the Transformational and Incremental change project costs within budget and headcount.
Processes
- Understand and ensure adherence to the banks Technology governance process, including adherence to eSDLC, Cloud Governance, Risk management processes, Data privacy & sovereignty and Other related processes
- Given the role involves significant vendor relationships, ensure a strong understanding of the third party vendor processes.
- For projects governed by FFG, adherence to the Bank’s FFG governance policies & procedures
People & Talent
- Lead the high performing T&O SCM technology Team in all locations.
- Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values. Set appropriate tone and expectations from their team and work in collaboration with risk and control partners.
- Ensure the provision of ongoing training and development of people, and ensure that holders of all critical functions are suitably skilled and qualified for their roles ensuring that they have effective supervision in place to mitigate any risks.
- Employ, engage and retain high quality people.
- Set and monitor job descriptions and objectives for direct reports and provide feedback and rewards in line with their performance against those responsibilities and objectives.
Risk Management
- Responsible for identifying, assessing, monitoring, controlling, and mitigating risks to the Group. Also, an awareness and understanding of the main risks facing the Group and the role the individual plays in managing them
- The ability to interpret the Group’s financial information, identify key issues based on this information and put in place appropriate controls and measures.
- Ensure a full understanding of the risk and control environment within T&O SCM technology Team.
- Ensure support procedures are in place and adhere to Group Security & Audit policies within T&O SCM technology Team
Governance
- Responsible for assessing the effectiveness of the Group’s arrangements to deliver effective governance, oversight and controls in the business and, if necessary, oversee changes in these areas
- Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework, in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role.
- Responsible for delivering ‘effective governance’; capability to challenge fellow executives effectively.
- Willingness to work with any local regulators in an open and cooperative manner.
Regulatory & Business Conduct
