Job Summary

ICS Protect is a critical function within Standard Chartered Bank.  The ICS Protect team is instrumental in ensuring the Banks ability to soundly meet its commitments to multiple internal and external stakeholders as well as to maintain an appropriate risk profile for the business we conduct.  Furthermore, the ICS Protect team plays a significant part in the Bank’s ‘Here for Good’ vision and brand promise. 


This role will be part of the Security Vulnerability Lifecycle Management function and is responsible for driving remediation governance of security vulnerabilities identified that could potentially impacting the Bank's infrastructure, applications or products. 


The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of vulnerability management, threat assessment, remediation processes and reporting capabilities. 

Key Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the prioritization and oversight of vulnerability remediation efforts, ensuring alignment with business priorities and risk appetite, and maintaining adherence to established Service Level Agreements (SLAs) in collaboration with Technology and Business stakeholders.
  • Provide expert support and guidance during critical vulnerability response and security incident investigations, facilitating swift and effective mitigation actions.
  • Conduct thorough validation and verification of remediation activities by analyzing vulnerability scan results, and provide clear, timely status updates to relevant stakeholders.
  • Manage and optimise data workflows within the Service Bench platform to ensure accuracy, track accountability, and streamline vulnerability data reporting.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams—Technology units and Business areas—to resolve vulnerabilities, ensuring compliance within prescribed SLAs and elevating risk mitigation standards.
  • Coordinate and support internal and external audit activities related to vulnerability management processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Develop, enhance, and deliver comprehensive weekly and monthly vulnerability management reports, presenting findings and trends to key forums and senior leadership teams to inform risk strategies.
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge base on emerging cybersecurity threats, vulnerability exploitation tactics, and remediation techniques through continuous research and professional development.
  • Effectively communicate complex technical information clearly and accurately, building strong, collaborative relationships across technical and non-technical stakeholders.

•    Manage and influence stakeholders in understanding risk exposure, remediation prioritisation and importance from vulnerabilities the Bank could be exposed to.

Risk Management
•    Consolidate remediation progress on application and infrastructure vulnerabilities into one risk focused view to help guide senior management risk and remediation decisions

Skills and Experience

We are seeking individuals with extensive knowledge in multiple domains of Information Security, particularly:

  • Proficiency in vulnerability management lifecycle, including identification, assessment, prioritization, and remediation tracking.
  • In-depth understanding of security frameworks and compliance requirements such as PCI DSS and the NIST Cyber Security Framework, enabling alignment with regulatory and industry standards.
  • Strong familiarity with the current threat landscape, including malware varieties, emerging cyber threats, and techniques employed in vulnerability exploitation and attacks.
  • Experience with cloud security architectures and DevSecOps practices, integrating security into continuous delivery pipelines.
  • Hands-on experience or deep knowledge of ServiceBench platform or similar systems supporting vulnerability workflow management.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills aiding in the resolution of complex security vulnerabilities, coupled with the ability to work effectively in high-pressure, fast-paced environments.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to articulate technical findings clearly and engage with diverse stakeholders from technical teams to executive leadership.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, demonstrating an ability to build trust and influence senior executives and cross-functional teams towards achieving security objectives.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard vulnerability assessment tools, threat intelligence platforms, and patch management solutions to support vulnerability detection and remediation monitoring.
  • Basic proficiency in scripting languages such as SQL, facilitating data extraction, reporting, and automation of routine tasks within vulnerability management functions.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field, demonstrating foundational technical expertise.

• 6 to 8 years of practical, hands-on experience working with security technologies within a global organisation, ideally in the banking or financial services sector, which demands rigorous risk management and regulatory compliance.

• Industry-recognised certifications such as CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), CISM (Certified Information Security Manager), or equivalent will be highly advantageous and demonstrate commitment to professional excellence.
