Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Senior Software Engineer (Java) to join our technology team. This  position requires a professional with strong expertise in Java development, microservices architecture, performance optimization, and modern AI-assisted development practices. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise-level applications while leveraging AI tools to enhance productivity and code quality.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Development

- Design, develop, and maintain robust Java applications using core Java technologies

- Architect and implement microservices-based solutions following industry best practices

- Develop and optimize workflow automation using Camunda BPM platform

- Design and implement efficient database solutions using SQL and performance tuning techniques

- Conduct performance analysis, tuning, and optimization of applications and systems

- Leverage AI tools like Claude for code generation, optimization, and problem-solving

- Utilize AI-assisted development for code reviews, documentation, and technical analysis

- Ensure code quality through code reviews, testing, and adherence to coding standards

Skills and Experience

Core Technical Competencies (Advanced Level)

- Core Java: 5+ years of hands-on experience with Java 8/11/17+, including collections, concurrency, and JVM tuning

- Microservices Architecture: Proven experience in designing and implementing microservices using Spring Boot, Spring Cloud

- Camunda BPM: Strong experience in workflow automation, BPMN modeling, and process orchestration

- SQL & Database: Advanced SQL skills, database design, query optimization, and performance tuning

- Performance Tuning: Expertise in application performance monitoring, profiling, and optimization techniques

- AI-Assisted Development: Experience using AI tools like Claude, GitHub Copilot, or similar for code generation, debugging, and optimization

- RESTful APIs: Design and development of REST APIs and web services

- Spring Framework: Spring Core, Spring MVC, Spring Security, Spring Data

Additional Technical Skills (Core Level)

- Message Queuing: Experience with Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar technologies

- Testing: Unit testing (JUnit, Mockito), integration testing, and test automation

- DevOps Tools: Maven/Gradle, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes

- Version Control: Git, branching strategies, and code review processes

- AI Integration: Understanding of how to effectively integrate AI tools into development workflows

Qualifications

Professional Experience

- Minimum 5-8 years of software development experience in enterprise environments

- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Java and microservices architecture

- 2+ years of experience with Camunda or similar BPM platforms

- Proven track record of performance tuning and optimization in production environments

- Experience using AI-assisted development tools in professional software development

- Experience working in regulated industries (banking/financial services preferred)

Educational Background

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field

- Relevant certifications in Java, Spring, or cloud technologies (preferred)

- Knowledge of AI/ML fundamentals and their application in software engineering (preferred)
