JOB SUMMARY

  • The Senior Manager, Cost Control & Management Centre of Excellence (COE) is part Group Enablement Services (GES) at Standard Chartered GBS. The role will enable the bank’s investment initiatives (such as Fit For Growth) to drive execution rigour across all portfolios and overall manage the programme.

Responsibilities

  • Stakeholder management responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Investment Portfolio leads in driving execution rigour, taking into account the bank’s and programme’s goals and financial objectives
  • Constructively challenges leads on assumptions, priorities and goals; asks questions that effectively lead to deeper understanding
  • Bring inside-out and outside-in perspective and propose development of coherent plans of action (jointly with stakeholders) 
  • Overall delivery responsibilities
  • Manage delivery support (programme tracking, training, governance) and build project plans with execution focus
  • Review analysis of internal metrics and objectives to develop a future fit strategy 
  • Ownership for troubleshooting current issues and implementing solutions post a thorough analysis of industry best practices and help establish proper objectives and goals (e.g., available through industry reports)
  • Strategic thinking mindset and ability to logically structure and process data into meaningful and actionable recommendations
  • Skills and Requirements:
  • Looking for a candidate with 10+ years of relevant experience in project management
  • Experience in managing large scale initiatives / programmes spanning across the organisation 
  • Banking / Global Business Services domain knowledge is good to have 

  • A strategic thinker, entrepreneurial, able to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment
  • Capability to drive an independent workstream in the context of a broader team project
  • Flexible and creative: ability to propose innovative ideas, build empathy within the firm and win the trust of the clients
  • Excellent communication, presentation and documentation skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and create an inclusive environment with people at all levels of an organization
  • Stakeholder management skills and project management skills
  • Proven influencing and perseverance skills to tailor recommendation to the needs of stakeholders and effectively engage them to obtain commitment and drive impact
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to proactively identify opportunities and drive results
  • Experience of working in a cross functional remote global team
  • Develop ExCo friendly presentations with crisp and clear messaging
