Job Summary

Strategy

 

  • Work within the Credit and Portfolio Management (CPM) team to spearhead the management of non-financial risks across the business.

  • Enable a sustainable and standardised approach to managing governance and operations across CPM   

 

Business

 

  • Coordinate NFRC participation and coverage, following-up on appropriate actions and requirements.
  • Support business teams with managing governance requirements, primarily focusing on Non Core Equity business within CPM.
  • Work closely with Compliance, Group Risk COO office and other key stakeholders to embed conduct risk and controls, focusing on the Non-Core Equity responsibilities. 
  • Maintain strong relationship with Risk Finance, Group Compliance & Regulatory Reform, Fraud Risk, Group Operational Risk and Credit Risk to ensure a good understanding of regulatory and policy requirements.

Risk Management

 

  • Manage process and business governance requirements.
  • Standards and process document management.
  • Manage adherence to various policies and standards applicable to CPM.
  • Maintain an open and cooperative relationship in dealings with stakeholders, including auditors.
  • Ensure that there are controls in place to support the governance of NCE function.

Regulatory & Business Conduct 

 

  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct. 
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

  • Perform other responsibilities assigned under Group, Country, Business or Functional policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years’ experience in risk management in banking
  • Strong understanding of process and business risk
  • Strong understanding of corporate lending and preferably an understanding of equity and quasi-equity investment products.
  • Interpersonal skills in networking, influencing and decision taking.
  • Excellent communication skills – oral, written and presentation.
  • Ability to engage and drive outcomes effectively across stakeholder groups, from working level through to senior management
