Job Summary
• Ensure market risk operates in accordance with Group and SCB AG’s policies and standards.
• Provide subject matter expertise to the relevant businesses (Financial Markets, Treasury Markets and others) and functions (Risk, Finance and others) on market risk.
• Support the Head of Traded Risk with his role and responsibilities relating to market risk.
• Effective monitoring and reporting of traded risk. These include:
• Monitor risk exposures in light of prevailing market conditions.
• Analyse risk and rewards of proposed trades for all business in excess of limits for approval.
• Assess and review FO proposals regarding risk limits in accordance with policy.
• Provide accurate management information as requested on a timely basis.
• Maintain up to date procedures / desk operating instructions.
• Measure and monitor traded risk through monthly reporting to management committees.
• Proactively identify material drivers of traded risk in the subsidiaries.
• Maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Maintain good credibility rating by demonstrating a fair technical understanding of market risks.
• Classify market risk limit excesses within the delegation of authorities.
• Review new product proposals for market risk management aspect.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy
• Contribute to the development of strategic plans and alignment with risk appetite through active membership of the Executive Risk Committee and other risk forums.
• Inform the development of business plans with the provision of cost and impairment forecasts and a balanced judgment on the external environment within the region.
• Achieve sound risk management within the country.
Business
• Align strategy of the Traded Risk functions with business strategy and risk appetite.
• Communicate the strategic intent and collective agenda for the Functions.
• Maintain and develop the Function's risk capabilities, and skills to meet ongoing needs and plans
Processes
• Effectively control all processes where the Traded Risk function is the identified first line process owner.
• Ensure effective management of operational risks within the Traded Risk function and compliance with applicable internal policies, and external laws and regulations.
• Continuously improve the operational efficiencies and effectiveness of risk management processes.
People & Talent
• Follow appropriate SCB AG culture and values. Work in collaboration with all relevant partners.
• Uphold and reinforce the independence from those whose primary responsibility is to maximise short-term revenues and profits.
• Provide on-the-job training to the relevant stakeholders.
Risk Management
• Assess periodically the risk profile for SCB AG and its branches and maintain alignment with risk appetite by rebalancing of risks or controls that may be required in response to internal and external factors.
• Carry out stress tests and scenario programs, review the results and assess their implications. Ensure that effective management response plans are in place to respond to extreme but plausible scenarios.
• Uphold the integrity of risk return decisions, by challenging business and control function heads to demonstrate that risk origination and control decisions are properly informed and consistent with strategy and risk appetite.
• Direct appropriate response to material events or other risk issues that come to the Country Chief Risk Officer's attention
• Ensure that material risk exposures and related issues are reported to the responsible governance committees and to Group and business-level committees as appropriate.
• Attend Country Risk Committee meetings on a regular basis to review risk issues in compliance with Group Policy governing such matters and actively participate on that Committee.
• Maintain a good understanding of the requirements of key external stakeholders in respect of risk management and ensure these are well understood internally and reflected in internal procedures
• Maintain delegated authorities in line with internal policies and ensure that delegations are in line with individual capabilities.
• Ensure appropriate judgement is applied in the discharge of risk authorities assigned to the jobholder.
Governance
• Ensure that the country consistently and effectively follows the Group's standard risk committee structure.
• Maintain an open and cooperative relationship in dealings with the regulator

• Embed Here for good and Group’s brand and values in SCB AG Traded Risk team.
• To identify, measure and monitor traded risks in SCB AG .
• To ensure that the Traded Risk Type frameworks are appropriately and consistently applied in the local subsidiary.
• Provide subject matter support on traded risks to the businesses and Finance.
• Good knowledge of balance sheet management and other risk management concepts.
• Excellent analytical skills and sound judgement in a rapidly changing and often stressful environment.
• Good business acumen and multicultural sensitivity.
• Possess strong leadership qualities.
• Must have knowledge of:
• Traded risk models and methodologies
• Traded risk regulations and guidelines
• Workings of financial markets
• Trading and risk management system platforms
• Must possess good verbal and written communication skills.
• Satisfactory outcome in audit and compliance reviews and try to avoid any findings if possible.
Qualifications
• Professional qualification e.g. CFA, Accounting
• Degree in a numerate, quotative discipline e.g. science, economics, engineering
• At least 7 years of banking/banking-related experience
