Job Description: 

Key Responsibilities

Strategy

  • Work with the Valuation Methodology team to develop approaches to estimate stressed uncertainty levels around key market valuation inputs for the XVA, Rates, FX, Credit, Banking and Treasury portfolios.
  • Consolidation, calculation, and reporting of Prudent Valuation Adjustment, Common Reporting disclosures, and regulatory Stress Testing.

 

Business

  • Coordinate with stakeholders to design, develop, and evolve methodologies to standardize and optimize the Prudential Valuation and stress Prudential Valuation framework. Ensure a robust PVA framework.
  • Complete prudent valuation returns on time and also prepare quarterly valuation packs for relevant stakeholders, including Product Control Management, Front Office, Regional Finance, and Market Risk.
  • Leverage knowledge and skills from other teams at the same location or similar teams across the globe.


Processes

  • Develop a deep understanding of the valuation control processes supporting the XVA, Rates, FX, Credit, Banking and Treasury portfolios, including IPV, fair value adjustments, and prudent value adjustments.
  • Assume responsibility for the support and development of all related working files.
  • Pro-actively improve and automate the current processes.
  • Ensure backups are trained and created among team members.
  • Perform any ad hoc requests by management.

Governance

  • Oversee the review and documentation of valuation methodologies, such as the Prudent Valuation Adjustment methodology, in accordance with the valuation framework.
  • Ensure that all documentation related to stress testing and the Prudent Valuation Adjustment framework is consistently updated.
  • Maintain and retain necessary approvals and documentation for processes, ensuring they are readily available for auditors or other stakeholders as required.

Key Stakeholders

  • Regularly engage with Valuation Methodology, Product Control, Country Finance, Senior Management, and various internal stakeholders.
  • Act as a point of reference for team members and internal stakeholders.
  • Manage relationships with internal stakeholders, take regular feedback, understand issues, and escalate appropriately for timely resolution.
  • Manage strong relationships with support teams (IT, Operations, and Risk) and bring synergies by interacting and integrating with cross-functional teams.

Skills and Experience

  • CA / MBA Finance with 8+ years of experience in valuation methodology with an advanced knowledge on prudent valuation framework
  • Familiarity with a broad range of market products including Bonds, Loans, Repos, Swaps, FX options, other derivatives, money market instruments, Commodities, and OTC products.
  • In-depth understanding of the Prudent Valuation Adjustment (PVA) framework and related regulatory requirements.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of IFRS Accounting Standards related to fair valuation, including classification, measurement, and disclosures, along with an understanding of various valuation adjustments required.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, and other tools that are integral to our processes and can facilitate automation.
