Key Responsibilities
Strategy
- Work as a team to deliver on the individual and collective Job Objectives
- Understand the GCFO pillars and the alignment of the pillars to the JO
Business
- Specialist is responsible for the delivery of regulatory reports (both internal and external) , adhering to SLA, operating instructions and quality requirements.
- Provide insightful analysis on variances and provide commentaries on the underlying movements.
- Handle queries and provide any adhoc support as may be required
Processes
- Ensuring accurate and timely submission of all required local regulatory returns to relevant senior stakeholders and/or regulatory authorities ( like RBI for India, MAS for Singapore and so on) , where appropriate.
- Provide day-to-day delivery management to the team
- Ensuring all queries for submitted reports are addressed within timelines including any ad hoc requirements in respect to processes managed.
- Ensuring the operational efficiency, accuracy and completeness of the reports are monitored with appropriate KPIs.
- Establishing robust governance and controls for the reporting process including the requirements to manage report quality and operational control. This includes expected data quality monitoring required in the reporting standards for regulatory reporting.
- Continuously striving for process optimization to enhance production efficiency and reduce errors.
- Leveraging technology and automation tools to streamline reporting processes.
- Supporting the transition of changes into BAU effectively that is aligned with the Bank’s regulatory and technology objectives.
People & Talent
- Strong team player and has the capacity to build good working relationships with cross functional / geographical teams.
Risk Management
- Comply, Monitor, Validate and Report all Key Performance Indicators within the overall service delivery framework. This includes identification, measurement, monitoring and control of all thresholds set as part of Governance Framework of the bank. Any breaches of the above framework are promptly highlighted to the line manager
- Update DOI’s and cross train other team members so that the service provided is seamless
Governance
- Monitor and ensure that appropriate Change governance is followed across all transformation initiatives. Represent the function at the governance forums in place for tracking change initiatives and influence decisions in respect of the change backlog, prioritisation, choice of technology tools and the operating model.
Regulatory & Business Conduct

- Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. Skills and Experience
Specific Skill set:
Technical
- Understanding of the bank’s products and services
- Fundamental understanding of Financial Statements & Balance Sheet Management
Soft Skills
- Very good written and verbal communication skills
- Strong Business Writing skills
Technology orientation (what will give the candidate an edge)
- MS excel
- Knowhow on tools such as SQL, Python will be beneficial
Qualifications
- Chartered Accountant (CA) / Cost Accountant (CWA) or its equivalent, MBA (Finance), MBA (Banking), or any Finance equivalent from an institute of Repute.
- Knowledge of accounting entries, Financial statements , good communication skills. A view of banking products will be beneficial. Collaboration mindset; able to deliver solutions to improve BAU.
