Job Summary

• We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Developer with a background expertise in Java to join our Authentication Service team. You will play a key role in building, customizing, and supporting identity platforms.
• You will drive automation covering the entire software development lifecycle, taking ownership of projects from implementation to production, ensuring solutions are designed, built, deployed, and maintained to the highest standards of quality, reliability, and performance. You will work closely with testing & operations teams, product owner and scrum master to foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

End-to-End Ownership
• Take full ownership of software development, driving from initial concept and design through development, testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, and establish clear objectives.
• Ensure solutions adhere to all relevant standards, processes, and security protocols throughout the entire lifecycle.

Automation
• Automate infrastructure provisioning, deployment, and scaling using Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform, and Ansible.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to streamline software delivery and enable rapid iteration, incorporating database changes and schema migrations.
• Automate routine tasks, operational processes, and incident response procedures to improve efficiency and reduce human error, including database maintenance tasks like backups and restores.
• Implement automated testing and monitoring to ensure code quality, system stability, and adherence to service level objectives (SLOs), including database testing and performance testing.

Development
• Build robust and scalable backend systems using Java languages like Java.
• Write high-quality, maintainable, and testable code, adhering to coding standards and best practices.
• Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback and contributing to a culture of continuous learning.

Observability
• Champion observability best practices across the organization, advocating for instrumentation and telemetry at all levels of the stack, including database performance monitoring.
• Design, implement, and maintain comprehensive monitoring and logging systems using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Jaeger, and ELK stack.
• Develop dashboards and alerts to provide real-time visibility into system health, performance, and user experience.
• Utilize tracing tools to analyze and troubleshoot complex issues, identifying root causes and implementing preventative measures, including database-related issues.
• Proactively identify and address potential performance bottlenecks, reliability risks, and security vulnerabilities across the entire stack.

Business
• Good understanding of overall ICS business model and new ways for working across technology 
• Drive change and adoption of new technology & delivery model with Agile, Dev Ops, Cloud first and identify working opportunities on innovation
• Deliver solutions, patterns and frameworks that will reduce cost of running technology by reducing excessing human resources, refraining by implementing isolated solutions
• Take ownership of any major incidents caused by automation solutions implemented by tooling and automation team
• Prioritise risk remediation and risk buy down use cases

Processes
• Contribute to improve technology processes for simpler, faster and better experience for fellow technology users and clients of ICS
• Ensure 100% compliance to SDF standards, minimum technology (resiliency and capacity) and cyber security standards across all implementation owned by tooling and automation
• Periodic review of all key success measures of running tooling and automation – including ROI or Benefits delivered, define operationalization metrices, and monitoring and make course corrections to improve the efficacy of automation solutions
• Ensure automation and tooling adaption are incorporated to product/vendor selection, tested and verified fit for BAU/production

Governance
• Ensure processes are complying to the Bank standard

Qualifications

• Education-Undergraduate level qualification with Bachelor in Engineering or Computer Science    

Skills and Experience

• Proficient in Java, with solid backend development experience. 
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines such as Azure DevOps to streamline software delivery and enable rapid iteration.
• Extensive experience with observability tools and techniques.
• Proven ability to automate infrastructure and operational processes.
• Expertise in software architecture.
• Understanding of identity protocols, OpenID Connect, SAML 2.0, LDAP, etc
• Experience working with authentication services such as ForgeRock is an added advantage. 
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
