JOB SUMMARY

The ESG PMO manager will lead financial governance and delivery oversight for the bank’s ESG digital transformation programme. This role is accountable for budget planning, cost tracking, ensuring resources are optimised and spend aligns with strategic priorities.

The individual will monitor project progress, manage risks, and enforce adherence to internal compliance, audit, and control standards.  Working closely with product owners, enterprise change management, programme management team, and finance team, they will ensure deliverables meet internal policy requirements. 

The role demands strong financial management skills, attention to detail, and the ability to drive disciplined, compliant project execution.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategy
The ESG transformation initiative aims to harness cutting-edge technology to drive operational efficiency, data transparency, and ESG decision-making across our footprint to foster SCB’s leadership in sustainable finance.

Business
The PMO manager will report into the Lead, ESG Platform. He/she will be responsible for active oversight of the ESG Transformation programme ensuring the programme is delivered as per the company’s defined governance standards (scope, cost, time, quality).

Processes
•    Lead budget planning for the ESG transformation programme, ensuring accurate forecasting and alignment with strategic priorities
•    Track, monitor and report programme financials, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions.
•    Oversee timesheet submissions for all programme resources, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and compliance with internal policies.
•    Prepare clear, data-driven financial reports for management and governance committees
•    Establish and maintain standardized project governance frameworks to ensure consistent execution, risk tracking, and reporting across ESG program initiatives.
•    Develop and implement tracking mechanisms to monitor milestone progress, dependencies, and delivery risks, ensuring transparency and accountability across workstreams.
•    Drive continuous process improvement by capturing lessons learned, standardizing templates, and to enhance efficiency and responsiveness to stakeholders needs.

People & Talent
•    University graduate with solid experience in the banking industry, exposure of key positions in medium-large programmes and/or Change Management
•    Hands-on experience as a PMO working on critical projects and Global teams 
•    Strong communication skills – oral, written and presentation. 
•    Strong analytical skills and ability to prioritise, make decisions, and work to tight timeframes.
•    Solid team player with demonstrated ability to work across multi-cultural, geographic and inter-disciplinary teams to deliver successful outcomes.
•    Demonstrates creative thinking by generating new ideas and identifying new ways of doing things.
•    Ability to quickly absorb and learn new systems, methodologies and types of information. 
•    Ability to form strong working relationships with stakeholders and team members
•    Capable of working independently to resolve issues and/or identify solutions 
•    Proficient in tools such as Microsoft Office, Clarity, ADO

Risk Management

Outsourcing Controls: 
•    Maintain all relevant documentations required to govern the Outsourcing relationship between ESG and GBS. Ensuring that all information and arrangements have been regularly reviewed and updated with all necessary approvals in place. This includes SLAs, BIAs, BCPs.

Governance
1. Planning Governance: 
•    Coordinating monthly planning and prioritisation sessions with Product Owners and Squad Leads to formalise key upcoming deliverables and seek approvals at the appropriate levels and forums. 
•    Undertake active tracking and management of changes (scope, cost and time) across various project initiatives and ensure these follow appropriate change governance standards. 
•    These changes will need to be consolidated and prepared for approvals at the relevant Refinement Forums and Steering Committees via Change Registers. 

2. Delivery Governance: 
•    Working with the Change Management team to ensure that deliveries/releases have attained the appropriate and necessary approvals/sign offs prior to implementation. 
•    Ensure project management/collaboration tools like Clarity and ADO are up to date including Project static data, status updates including RAG status, key milestones’ attestation and completion, risks/ dependencies/issues, are tracked and reported to the respective forums eg RFs and QPR/MPRs.

3. Programme Governance: 
•    Continuously evaluating projects to ensure they are meeting company standards, adhering to budgets, and meeting deadlines. Also ensure that respective project leads are well aware of the governance actions and responsibilities.
•    Maintain Programme artefacts and manage repositories, ensuring they are held to high standards acceptable to internal and external audits.
