Job Summary:
Digital Ledger Technology (DLT) & Digital Assets (DA) are the strategic client access platforms for CIB clients to transact with the Bank.
The Digital Assets Platform (DAP) Technology Solution Architect will play a key architectural leadership role within the DLT Hive, responsible for defining, governing, and guiding end-to-end technology solutions across Digital Asset, Tokenization, Payments, and Financial Market (FM) use cases. The role acts as a bridge between CIB enterprise architecture and DAP delivery squads.
The role demands that the person works as a trusted business partner to manage multiple programs & projects within this domain. Candidate will need to create and nurture relations with business partners, technology heads, operations, group & country product, risk governance and planning support & services. A strong technology acumen is required to create innovative solutions for the Bank’s digital banking space.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategy
- As a key member of the Digital Asset Platform (DAP) Technology Architecture team, define and drive the architecture strategy and technology roadmap for DLT and Digital Assets platforms, ensuring alignment with the broader Business Platforms and CIB Enterprise Architecture roadmap.
- Advocate and communicate the global digital architecture vision and strategy across business, technology, and architecture stakeholders, ensuring consistent adoption of standards, patterns, and principles.
- Articulate the value of “Digital” and embed it into the target architecture and solution design, driving outcomes across:
- revenue enablement (new digital asset products, tokenization use cases)
- cost efficiency (platform reuse, standardization)
- superior client experience (scalable, API-first, real-time platforms)
- Maintain a deep understanding of external industry and peer bank architecture trends, including:
- Digital Assets and tokenization platforms
- Smart contracts and blockchain infrastructure
- Payments and Financial Markets innovation
and assess their impact on the bank’s architecture strategy and innovation roadmap.
- Build and foster an architecture and engineering excellence culture by promoting:
- system thinking and platform-first mindset
- reusable architecture patterns and design standards

- Drive a modern approach to architecture-led engineering excellence, enabling:
- modular, API-first and event-driven architectures

while promoting thought leadership and upskilling across cloud, architecture, APIs, and emerging Digital Asset technologies.
- Enable and strengthen a scalable, squad-based operating model by:
- defining reference architectures and guardrails for squads
- ensuring design consistency across multiple DAP initiatives
- supporting agile delivery through architecture governance and oversight rather than centralized control
- Define and govern end-to-end solution architecture across Digital Asset platforms including tokenization, custody, blockchain, APIs, and integration layers.
- Translate business requirements into scalable, secure, and compliant technology designs, aligned with enterprise architecture and regulatory standards.
- Ensure strong alignment with CIB enterprise architecture, driving reuse of shared capabilities (API, cloud, IAM) and consistency across platforms.
- Provide architecture oversight across multiple squads and initiatives, ensuring design quality, scalability, and adherence to standards.
- Lead and guide teams on architecture patterns, cloud-native design, and blockchain solutions, resolving complex technical challenges.
Business
- Provide technical architecture leadership for Digital Assets and DLT solutions aligned to enterprise standards and business outcomes.
- Define and govern end-to-end solution architectures across tokenization, custody, blockchain, and API-led platforms.
- Ensure security, scalability, and regulatory compliance of all Digital Asset Platform solutions.
- Act as a trusted advisor to business, CPOs, and COO partners, driving initiatives from investment through solutioning and implementation.
- Lead architecture reviews and design governance to ensure solution quality, consistency, and reuse.
- Drive thought leadership and innovation across Digital Assets, payments, and financial markets ecosystems.
- Collaborate across squads and functions to deliver scalable, high-quality, and cost-efficient technology solutions.
- Enable a platform-first, API-driven architecture ecosystem to support business growth and digital transformation.

- Drive and communicate architecture standards, governance frameworks, and best practices to ensure solution quality, data integrity, security, and compliance across all DAP initiatives.
- Ensure adherence to the Bank’s Technology System Delivery Framework, embedding architecture governance across design, build, and delivery lifecycles.
- Participate as a senior architecture reviewer in change and release governance forums, ensuring all solutions meet enterprise design, risk, and compliance standards.
- Embed the Group’s values, code of conduct, and regulatory standards within architecture designs and across delivery teams.

Skills and Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in banking / financial services technology, with strong exposure to Digital Assets, DLT, Payments, or Financial Markets platforms.
- Proven ability to translate business strategy into target architecture, solution designs, and technology roadmaps aligned to enterprise architecture standards.
- Strong understanding of secure architecture principles including IAM, MFA, encryption, API security, and regulatory controls for client-facing platforms.
- Demonstrated experience in leading complex architecture initiatives across multiple teams, stakeholders, and technology domains.
- Strategic mindset with strong problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and ability to operate in fast-evolving, high-impact environments
Technical Competencies:
- Strong expertise in end-to-end solution architecture and technology engineering, with the ability to design scalable, secure, and resilient Digital Asset platforms.
- Deep understanding of cloud-native, API-first, and DevOps-enabled architectures, including infrastructure, CI/CD, and platform engineering principles.
- Proficiency in modern architecture patterns, frameworks, and integration models (microservices, event-driven, distributed systems).
- Strong knowledge of blockchain, distributed ledger technologies, smart contracts, and tokenization flows, including custody and settlement use cases.
- Solid understanding of cryptography concepts, blockchain protocols, and security principles for enterprise-grade financial platforms.
- Familiarity with consensus mechanisms, P2P networks, staking, and emerging technologies such as privacy-enhancing techniques (e.g., ZKP).
- Experience in solution governance, incident analysis, and problem resolution, ensuring system stability, scalability, and compliance.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and analytical skills, with deep domain knowledge in financial services, payments, or digital assets ecosystems.
- Exposure to Stablecoins / Tokenized products / cross border payments with large global banks
- Strong understanding of custody, Wallet infrastructure
- Exposure to multi-language technology stacks (e.g., Solidity, DAML, Java, Node.js, Go, Python) with sufficient hands-on capability to guide design and code quality.
